    tenatively ...

    Ralph,

Believe me, if I hadn't committed to my Arizona bud first I'd be solid. I've seen the Grand Canyon. Now anyone that knows me knows my nose points West anytime the words "vacation" or "rally" ring.

But I did enjoy lall the folks I met in West Virginia - everyone was great. Just super folks. Wish I could've had more time to chat with everyone. And Gary and Deanna are dear friends. So it will have to be an absolute overbook to keep me away. Just have to see when the rally dates wind up being.

Very best to all future attendees!

            Whoa!

Don't want to fall behind the curve, here. What are the dates for this rally? Me and my bro are definitely there, just need the dates to reserve the time.

                      Port Ontario NY Rally

                      Hey Gary,

It's been awhile but I'm still upright! Had a heart attack at the end of July (heart stent of 3 years ago collasped ) and I have been off work ever since. And like many other XS-XJ owners, the XJ is gone and replaced with a Yamaha Majesty 400 scooter. Yes, it does not have the " oh my god " burst of speed when you twist the throttle like the XJ but it will do 100 mph on the highway and is very comfortable on long trips. I went to Laconia on it this past June with Bruce and a buddy (David) from work on his '80 Kawasaki 1000. David and I made it but Bruce turned back on the first day due to mechanical woes with his '78 XS. I even took the scooter up Mt Washington.

Anyway, your rally sounds great. I want to go but I can't go alone because of health concerns. I need some one to come along "just incase". I may be able to talk David into it and even Bruce.

BTW, the scooter is a 2005 not a 2006 as stated in my signature .

                          Mark,

I heard about the Scooter from Bruce a while back, I am glad you enjoying it. I have yet to reach the top of Mt. Washington...someday I hope .

The news about the heart attack is new howerver , I am glad that you are OK and making plans to attend the rally.

Too bad about Bruce's bike...if he can get it here plan to spend a week and I'll fix it up for him (if it possible).

Hope to see you in a few months,

                          Take care,

Hmmmm....this will be a long shot, but have already mentioned to SWMBO that is time for another east coast trip; haven't been east since the 2001 Americade rally. Would be camping if I make it. Seed has been planted!

Only about 2K miles each way.......
