Update

At this point, it's starting to look like I'm not going to make this rally.
First, even though I see that there's a recent room cancellation, I still haven't made any reservations.
This is mostly due to the fact that 'IF' I attend this rally, I'll be riding TOTALLY solo; no passenger, no other accompaning bikes.
Also, the time frame at work would require me to work 3rd shift, Thurs. night [the 24th], arrive home Fri. morning and then ride "straight legged" with no sleep all the way to the rally site on Friday the 25th.
By doing this I could ride with the group on Saturday.
THEN, leave on Sunday, ride straight back to WV arriving home on Sunday evening -- -- LATE. Clock in at work at 8:00 PM on Monday night.
It just sounds to me like a tight schedule for myself, traveling alone on strange roads and unfamilar territory; although I do have a steed worthy of the challenge.
'Only 250[+- ] miles short of an Iron Butt each way for only one day of "fellowship".
I know I could "play" with the Sun./Mon. schedule and stay an additional night on the road,,, arriving home Monday afternoon.
But -- -- -- I'm getting to the age where I'd best recognize some foresight instead of hindsight.
'Don't give me up for "lost" yet; I'm STILL playing with the idea!
I may be getting older, hopefully wiser,,,,, but so far [today] I can still handle a 21 hr. day!
The 'long and short' of it is that I'm still not committed enough to make a reservation, not to mention the time frame of "work" PLUS the solo adventure.
Enough said; either talk me into it or out of it!!! lol

Sorry you may not make it. I have done the kind of trip you are talking about before and it sucks, you are so tired. The room is not a big deal, we have 4 bed room free in the little house, that is going to staywith our group. He told me they would not rent it even if we don't take it since we have the rest of the house. The room that got cancelled will probably go to the other group (wedding party) unless somebody from our group was waiting.

I got a call the shirts are ready...I'll go get them now.
I got my first ride in yesterday 300 miles to preview a very long ride I have done before.

Well,

I'm glad to hear that there may still be room at the INN? I wasn't planning on attending, but now since SWMBO is going on a B'day SHIP Cruise in June with her sister....I don't do ship cruises......
I decided to go ahead and attend this wonderful event. I've already got Friday and Monday off from work, so I can have 2 days to "play"!

Gary, do I need to try to contact the INN to make a reservation, or can I have one of the 4 beds in the spare room??

Godzilla will still look like a RATBIKE , I won't have enough time to complete my XJ tank conversion and custom paint job.

Perhaps by the time I make it to Suches, I'll have it done.
Gary, do you have any Large T-shirts leftover?

I really am not sure, some people have more than one room rented so it is hard to tell.

There were about 50 shirts ordered by attendees....my best guess is around 30ish people.

The last time I had a rally we had 54 people and 35ish bikes IIRC. So I am hoping for similar numbers.

If TC and TONTO come then there is two more not counted for shirts.

We will know for sure on Sat 5/26

I put about 600 miles on this week and still managed to get ride on the new 2007 1050 Triumph Tiger.

I rode the finger lakes ride I have done in the past - 300 miles, just too long for a group I think. Riding time for me was 6 hours, add lunch, stop at Curtiss museum, 2 gas stops and you are looking at a 10 hour min ride if no hitches at all. But most likely 12 hours with holiday traffic in this area. We would have to leave at 6am. Not happening.

My Oswego county ride has been expanded to be 145 miles, this looks like the Saturday ride. This ride gets almost every 15mph corner in the county, and goes past most every body of water. Even includes a waterfall. We can leave at 10am, lunch at noon, dinner is scheduled for 6pm about a mile from the motel at 'Brandy's Sunrise Restaurant' we have the back half of the restaurant booked, full menu, salad bar, small regular bar. Looks like a nice place. There are two or three places you can get breakfast with in a couple miles, more options and even a Dunkin Donuts about five miles away.

Sunday we ride to Barnaveld NY via some very scenic roads, they have a bar there that has specials on Sunday for giant burgers for $1 and other stuff. (Jim not sure they have veggie ones but we can ask) We can drive by the giant windmill farm (100's of them - pretty awesome sight) they just put up if anybody wants to, or go via my usuall route (very nice).

Most of the roads will not have any traffic on them...but I saw 3 cops yesterday..only on main routes.

I am cutting up wood for camp fire and have trophies on order for a couple of awards and have some door prizes to give out. Some of you are bringing door prizes-thanks! T-shirts are done, look great and they even got the order right.

I think that's it, need to make up maps, registration forms, etc. Everything is a go...be here or wish you were.

Gary, really looking forward to the weekend. Rides sound good. I've been wanting to see that windmill farm but haven't gotten over to Stillwater Reservoir for a few years. I'm gonna bring an extra map to have you highlight all your secret routes!
