OK, I'm in regardless
Well I am going to WI in August, barring anything unplanned at work. Anyone want to join me, terrific. It takes at least 2 to make a rally, but I'll lie if I have to.
Pain offered to pick some routes, we'll plan as best as we can with short notice, wing it and ride. Won't be a drag race weekend, but a regular rally.
Depending upon the routes we come up with, and the weather for that weekend, I'll ride the Venture or the FZ. It's less than 600 miles for me so I will leave early Friday, then ride Saturday and Sunday, go back Monday. I don't recall ever touching WI. We can do breakfast Saturday morning together.
See you at the Value Inn.
Anyone east of Erie want to stop in here in Kane for the night before you are welcome. Got a couple of beds and floor space.
Now IF chevy manages to chime in with the original plan between now and then that's fine, I'll be there to watch the drags and then ride around a little also.
Be there and have fun or go follow some harleys somewhere....Last edited by MartyA; 07-12-2006, 06:26 PM.Marty in NW PA

Well Marty, it’s a rally. I’ll be there, work won’t stop me, only death, sickness, or some family disaster and I’m praying none of those happen. I’m working on getting dewibp to go, I may have to drag him, but then it is “Brag and Drag”.

Of course I am in, it's not even 50 miles. Just hope I am not the only guy on an xs11
For routes, I am guessing some curvey stuff, and some pretty stuff, with the occasional fast part? This is Harley country, so anyone going fast is suspect ( )
I will get some routes together. Anyone have a perferred daily milage? There is also an excellent vintage shop near me in here in Milwaukee that can assist with tires or whatnot, if you let me know in advance.I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

I plan to be on my XS11, it hasn’t failed me yet. As far a daily mileage I would suggest 200 miles. That’s two tanks of gas on a Special and should take 4-6 hours depending on roads and stops. While that don’t seem like much to me it still may be too much?

Marty,
Ride the Venture, I might buy it from you. Now you might wonder how your're going to get home if I buy your bike. Don't worry, we can ride together. I'll be coming to live with you when SWMBO finds out I bought another bike.

Okay, I am not so good at this whole "Planning" thing, but I read a book on it once, so here we go.
Questions that I would like answered;
1: Anyone other than me, MartyA and Bob Falter coming? At this point I have no idea what is going on with the drag strip, but if that is why everone wants to come here I will really work on it.
2: For those of us doing a road rally, what days do you want to spend riding? Planning to arrive friday, radi saturday, leave sunday? Ride Sunday? Both days? Want to do a big ride on saturday and something shorter on Sunday? You get the idea.
3: Anyone not like cheese?I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

I'm going that far so I will ride Sat and Sun. We can plan for both days, and if some have to go back Sun that's fine.
I like cheese.
Bob, get on a bus to PA, ride back on the Venture, to someplace SWMBO isn't.Marty in NW PA

I’m trying to talk dewibp into coming and if I remember right he told me that there was a couple from Des Moines that might go. At one time there was several from the east that were talking about coming.
The drag strip would be interesting but I like to ride.
I plan on being there Friday and leaving on Monday so ride on Saturday and Sunday.
I love cheese.
Marty, I’m tempted but I want to live a little longer.

one other thing I am just tossing out there.
The Region 4 of ST.N hosts a Curd Run, which is a scavenger hunt for Cheese factories in Wi. Actually, the locations are posted in advance, and the idea is to tkae pictures of as many of them as you can during the allowed time. Bonus poins are awards for buying curd, multiple bikes in the picture, bad weather, etc.
No date has been annouced for this year, but I am betting I can arrange to have it on this weekend, if you all are interested in something a little different?
Of course, the traditional ride is good too. I am mapping out routes.I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.
