Just a little over. I rode the first half or so this weekend - that is all I had time for thanks to work panicing somewhat - and there are a couple of good detours that will add to the miles a bit.
MartyA, I need your actual email address. Can't send files thru this site. Or at least I can't figure out how too.I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

Doh, I knew that. I PM'd ya.
Thanks.
Value Inn still has a room for me, and I think we have decent weather.
I should end up with about 1,800 miles by the time I get back. I have to make a side trip on the way back to PA, business meeting in KY.
Nuttin has been getting a workout this summer. Myrtle Beach last month and Kenosha this month.Marty in NW PA

This sounds good to me. I will pack my tent. I optimistically hope to arrive at the Value inn to meet up with XSives just before dark, Friday night. (I have been known to be late, and have some concerns re; the parking lot known as Chicago at rush hours.) I will be riding my red HD road king on this trip. Yes, I am bringing tools and a tire repair kit. Route map looks good.
Tentative schedule? Drag race Saturday and rustic roads Sunday?
Looking forward to an XSively good time again. It is a great big beautiful world out there

Wow, after using this site many times for information, technical advice and humor, the Brag and Drag rally put some faces to the names for me. I’m impressed!!!!!
My arrival at the Value Inn was exciting but certainly an unknown about the people. Within minutes I was made to feel a part of the group as if we had been together for years. My regret is that I had too little time with you and no camera for a photo of you guys and the Lake Geneva scenery………oh ya
Chevy, MartyA, Sally, Bob, Brent, and Pain…..you made me feel welcome and showed me what this group is really about, the PEOPLE and the passion for XSive behavior, and comradery.
Brag and Drag is in the books now and an exciting memory for me.
My return home was safe and a little WET (8pm, 743 total trip miles) and the memories will linger for a long while…….. but another day our paths will cross I’m sure.
Chevy, the dash plaque and shirt were a bonus. Thanks a heap!
Thanks again for a great time and ride.

Next year?
Wife likes Wisconsin Cheese curds. She says "Bring back some more... well, I know you are going back up there again." (I have been bragging, grinning, showing trophy's, talking of scenic roads, towns, etc.)
Return trip good. 793 miles by my odometer,(down from 860 there, and 40 miles less then mapquest, 16 miles less than yahoo directions.) Left Kenosha @0400 central time (5 eastern) through Chicago via I-94 toll $1.50, I-294 toll $.80 four times. Ate at the best place to be...friendly hospitality, coffee, steak eggs hash browns mm. It is located at the next exit after the pouring rain starts. Smooth ride through Indianapolis, Nashville, even Chatanooga @ 5pm eastern time. Some heavy rush hour traffic (only one stop and no toll) @atlanta I-85 & I-285 northeast side @ interchange known to locals as spaghetti juntion. 2.5 hours quicker returning and that included one more stop to eat, many stops following big refilled coffee @ mom&pop Diner, and a quick gas station repair, (bungee cord on rubber floor board top). Home @730 pm eastern time 14.5 hrs trip time
Clouds, rain, and sun. Ride wrench and ride...a complete MC trip.
and this which I posted for other XSives on all XSlls list :
subject - Twisty Road in Indiana
While returning from XS/XJ rally Brag & Drag in Kenosha WI, I saw the wonderful caution sign:
"no thru trucks, steep grades, curvy rd next # miles"
Hwy 160 @ I-65 - I have not ridden it, but it might be worth checking out.
Happy Motoring,
Brent in GA
PS Those north Central XSives put on a Great rally. Interest in Drag Racing was limited,, so a long scenic, country & rustic route was led by Chevy454, local organizer and ride leader. Saw Lake Michigan and the Missippy river Sat.
Riders from Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, & Ga there, Mostly XS AND XJ - well represented. Sunday, another Good ride and Cook out with trophys and T-shirts. I won "Most driven, Least Cleaned" no bike on trophy, just the southbound end of a northbound horse, Maybe my HD was deemed to be half fast. It was a good time.It is a great big beautiful world out there

Glad you opted for the Chicago route on the way back. Not excatly scenic, but definitly faster. And, really, nothing in Eastern IL is scenic.I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Finally back home
Rolled in to Kane at about 1:30 this afternoon, Venture has a couple of minor repairs to be made, nothing that would stop another round trip to the midwest.
Once again an XS rally was simply a blast. I met new folks who are just as zany as all other XSives I have met, both present owners and former. And what has become the custom at XS Rallys, a good percentage of the bikes are not XS-XJ's...
XSive riding with a small group is just as much fun as with a large group. Chevy and Pain had some routes picked out, and as there were not too many 'twisty' routes we enjoyed some longer distances in short times, and stopping for visits.
"Cruiser" is correct, whenever XSives get together it is like we knew each other for a long time.
Sorry Andy couldn't make the trips, but our brief visits were enjoyable. Cruiser was with us for most of Sunday, sorry I did not get photos of either of you or your bikes.
The few twisty roads were very well ridden by all, and I reminded each that if they enjoyed leaning while riding then the Vintage Rally in Suches is absolutely the place to be for some of the best roads in north America.
On Saturday we rode through southern WI and northern IL, and following our lunch stop while reviewing the map for further routes we discovered our proximity to Iowa. Since I had not collected Iowa yet we made an expeditious trip to Dubuque, then returned to Kenosha. Someone correct me, I think we rode 388 miles on Saturday. (Way to go Cindy!!!)
Chevy and wife Cindy on his XS
Bob Faller on his XS Special
Marty and Sally on the Venture
Brent on his Firefighter 'Special' H-D.
(Brent and I managed to stay fairly close to the 'flying' XS and XJ.)
On Sunday we were a bit more sedate with our riding, around Lake Geneva with good views of sun worshippers, passing through the Kettle Moraine area and even a few pleasantly curvy roads. Cruiser joined us for most of the Sunday ride, and at roughly our western most point he departed for home. We did stop at a cheese factory (hey, it's Wisconsin!) for snacks on the way back to Chevy's place, arriving early evening. Again correct me, but I think 240 miles on Sunday? I did 44 more while chasing Brent and Bob who I am sure did more miles as they were chasing Brent's flying chaps....

Chevy put on a nice BBQ and we had the trophy awards.
This rally was very well done, in spite of some bumps in the middle of the planning stages. We have shirts, we have trophies, we have new friends, we had good company, good weather, and Cindy makes the BEST sweet tea!!
While it would have been interesting to get a bunch of XSive folks to the drag strip, the small group and the fact that there were only 2 bikes on Saturday that were worthy of drag racing (certainly my Venture is no contestant at a drag strip) made riding more practical, which of course we then took to XSiveness!
The second annual Brag n Drag is in the works, be ready!!
Sally and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip. I had a business meeting in Kentucky on Tuesday morning, so, darn, I had to ride there Monday from Kenosha. My total for the 6 days of riding was a little over 2,300 miles.
Try this and see if it works:
