That's awesome, built to last.
Giving high mileage bike some love. Now ran when parked?

I've put some miles on it and a couple of tanks of gas. It starts easy, runs very well, and it seems to drive as well as it ever has.
Back to the clutch. I have a new set of Vesrah springs. I have it on good authority that they're tighter than stock. I believe all of the broken clutch cable comments made me shy away from the Barnett springs. Do I want to drain the oil, replace the gasket and not change friction plates on a bike with 100K miles on it? What are the chances it's done with just springs? It slips at 5500 RPM.Marty (in Mississippi)

For that issue I would get a set of Vesrah pads and soak them in clean oil for about an hour. Then I scuff the plate (to remove the glaze) with a right angle die grinder with scotch brite pad. Clean the scuffed plates with gasoline and dry. Then assemble with the new springs. Good for another 100K miles.👍 2Comment

If I took the cover off, I would want new frictions and springs...just to be done with it for good.
I also like to scuff the steels like Deebs, but I use emery paper.-Mike
