Oh how did you plum the extra tank, from the botton via some sort of lawn mower tank fitting maybe?

Actually an outboard motor tank has a stinger that goes to the bottom with a screen on the end. The fuel hose off that port on the outboard tank has a syphon bulb that you squeeze to get the fuel syphoning out the top of the tank. From that point it drains via gravity into the main tank.

I just put a "Y" into the prime side of the main tank petcock and plumbed the aux into that. When the fuel light flickers on the Maxim I switch the petcock to prime then open the valve on the aux tank...squeeze the bulb a few times and all the fuel from the aux tank drains into the main tank to give me an extra 3 gallons (about 100 miles of range).

Aux Tank

Aux tanks are great. I installed a 1 3/4 gal aluminum go kart tank inside the trunk on my 80SG. I'd post a pic but haven't learned how yet. I can e-mail pics if your interested.
