P.M.'s

I've sent out P.M.'s to all of you so if you haven't already, please reply and let me know whether your planning on being there or not. This will help me to deal with how to set us up in groups when we ride. I've found that groups of 8 or so works best for traffic. I'll be in contact via chatterbox to the other group/s in case there are any problems. It would be nice to know how to position the other guys. Also to notify the resturant of how much space we'll need on Friday the 2nd.

Reno

I'm a newby (to XS11s) from Lake County, CA. Recently acquired an XS1100SF. I'm a definite maybe for Reno/Tahoe though I may be riding in with a buddy who rides one of those hateful Harleys. ;-)
Shiny side up,
650 Mike

XS1100SF "Rusty", runs great, 96k miles
XS650SJ "The Black Bike", engine from XS650H with 750cc big bore kit, 30k miles

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting, "WOW, what a ride !" - Sprung

That sound fine. Maximan will be bringing a buddy too if he comes, so no problem there. An xs650 I recently set loose should be there as well.

So far, I've got confirmation from 6 people. We've had a lot more show interest, but for various reasons won't make it. Dhost has told me that he won't be there, but I have his bike... looking for someone to ride it My dad won't be there either, so right now we'll be at about 7-10 bikes. Thats enough to have some good fun, and maybe perfect for the mountain roads we'll be running on.

I'm unable to make this one, much as I'd like to, especially since I've got friends up on the Comstock where the planned ride is going. Maybe next time. Have fun gang!

Well it's looking like the buddy I'll be bringing is Jerry.

The guy that was going to ride up with me from Denver on his '81 SH will not be coming. I've talked to Jerry and tentatively we'll be riding out together.

New here also, and the trip to Reno is definitely a possibility. I was actually thinking about a Reno ride for that weekend anyway, but from Sacramento it's not too far... I will try to make it! Not guaranteed yet. '79 XS1100SF and proud of it!

Weather forcast looks great. Sunny and warm all weekend. I expect overnight lows to be low 50's, and highs in the 70's-80's.
I'll see some of you Friday night at Carrows. I'll be there about 7. For those of you coming in for Sat., We'll be meeting at 8 for grub again(same place), and pulling out around 9:30 for Virginia City. Sunday we'll start about the same time, and head down to Markleeville, Bear Valley, Angels Camp, and return route depends on time. And Monday we'll pack up and head out up the West side of the lake to Sierraville, over to Downeeville, and stop at the Empire Mine State Park before saying goodbyes at I80 after noon.

<sigh> and I'll be working. I DON"T want to see any of you comming in to my work on either day!!!!!! I work at a hospital (trauma center) and we get bikers airlifted in here quite often.
Lots of motorhomes and last summer holiday weekenders. Be patient with the increased traffic.
And someone please scrape a peg for me .

Well bummer Pat, but if we do this next year, maybe you'll make it. I'll get plenty of pics and post them afterwards. If we do get together next year, I think we'll stay in Carson City. The Motel 6 there is half as much a night.

I missread the forcast slightly... For you campers, we're looking at lows down to the high 30's, so bring a warm sleeping bag. By 8 AM it warms up to the 60's

Already have the down mummy bag and down coat packed.

Maximan and I will be leaving Rifle, CO early Thursday morning. We intend to take Hwy 50 across Nevada, getting off I-70 at Salinas. If anyone else is gong this way and wants to hook up, let me know. Plan is to stay Thursday night in Eureka, Nevada at the Motel 6, then into Lake Tahoe on Friday.
