I'll be working in Sacramento until 8:30 pm on Friday. That would make it pretty late for heading up to SLT for the Friday rendezvous at Carrows.
Not sure if I'll come up on Saturday or Sunday. When and where will everyone meet prior to the rides on those days? If there's a plan for breakfast I can probably make it.
Thanks!

Leaving Carrows next to M6 9:30am Sat.
Sunday, we may have to start an hour earlier if we decide to do Sonora Pass.
And Monday will be pulling out at about 8 from the M6 for breakfast, maybe IHOP or something. I'll try to keep the thread updated during the weekend if anything changes.

I made it to Newcastle, CO. 820 miles in 12 hours. That "reserve" of 3 gallons ROX!. I was going 210-220 miles between stops. I think if I'm getting really good GPM I could go 240 or 250 before she went dry. However once in western Kansas I had to stop at 181 miles bucking a 40 mph head wind.....yukkk!. I only got 25.7 on that leg.
I have it plumbed into the right petcock. I just open the auxiliary petcock and the extra tank on the luggage rack drains (via gravity) into the main tank...AlaKazaam!! 3 extra gallons.
I'll meet Jerry in Rifle tomorrow morning and we'll ride toward Tahoe.
We're looking at 6 or 7 bikes for tomorrow, for our starter lightweight ride. It's more talking than riding, but we don't seem to have a problem with either. We'll all have a chance to hassle the sales team at the Reno bike shop while we wait for Jerry to get a rear tire. So far, I think this is going to be a real blast.

There once was a biker named Dickie
Finding Sonora Pass Oh soooo tricky
He puckered so tight at the terrible fright
That he gave his seat cover a hickey!
I'm LOL. Great poem! Didn't know you had the limerick talent. Have fun folks, wish I could go. BTW this weekend is the "Takin' It To The Streets Road Rally and Concert" at Konocti Harbor Resort here in Lake County. I live near the road to the venue and the open-piped Harleys started streaming in early this afternoon and they're still rumbling in as I write, if past years are any indicator this will continue all night and into tomorrow. I won't be able to ride around tomorrow without returning the wave to all these clowns, all the cameraderie is just sickening. Some of 'em actually trailer their bikes in from the Bay Area which is only 100 miles away and unload at some motel and ride 5 miles to the resort the posers. Think I'll go down to the venue and watch the concert from the upper parking lot with my friend who rides a '65 Triumph Bonnie just to piss off these people by not sharing their choice of bike or slamming 487 Bud Lites. Don't they have any imagination? I hope someone wants to race me, nyuk nyuk! My friend's Triumph also eats Harleys for lunch, he built it himself.

Great shot of Tahoe. What a great and fast ride that is!

Just got my reservation at SLT Motel 6 for Sunday night.
I was hoping for tonight (Saturday) as well, so I could join in on the evening get-together, but they were all booked up.
If anyone has a room to share I'll come up tonight, otherwise I'll head out very early tomorrow morning to catch everyone at Carrow's for breakfast and ride. I'll be riding my red '85 XJ700.

Sorry for the delay Bill. Only Maximan and I are on line and here in Tahoe. We've been talking and joking around since dinner. We'll be waiting for you at the resturant. Sorry we didn't have time to respond about the room. You probably are already in bed getting an early start tomorrow. We'll see you in the morning.
