You said:4 over mains, 1 over pilots, pilot screws 6 out.
Screwed pilot screws down to 3.5 out.
I would go back to stock on the pilot jets. I may start fine, but after you warm it up and go a few blocks it could be overly rich. If you are talking about earlier carbs, you can't block the carb vent hoses or you will start overfilling the carbs... (sorry, I don't know your carb models, I forgot to look.)Skids (Sid Hansen)

I have checked my plugs after every run, and they look great, that is why I THINK they are good. I'm no expert, so although the plugs look good to me, they could still be the wrong mains, but I am fairly confident they are good.Have:

I'm curious to know.... WAS the headlight bucket off this bike at any time???
The reason I ask is........ I installed a new/used headlight bucket last season. After a week or so I had serious stumbling, stalling, backfire problems. ONLY while I was moving. I went absolutely NUTS trying to figure out why.. Then I remembered, ALL of the ign./ power wires are in that bucket and they were all disconnected and re-connected..... I went back in the bucket and checked, cleaned and rechecked all of the connections. Problem GONE!!!!!!!!! You may be chasing your tail looking at the carbs or fuel. I would start disconnecting, cleaning, greasing all the electrical connections starting at the battery. "Deoxit" is an awesome cleaner. It can be found at electronics store and music stores where they sell amps, guitars, and things. AND just because it might not have been off, doesn't mean the problem isn't in there. Give the fuel system and your brain a break. It's not like cleaning connections is a waste of time. If you received this bike in parts, I'm sure they were all neglected. Good Luck!!!Rob

Yeah basically that was all apart, and I got it hooked up working great, so I thought. Could that crap really be my problem? I though all that was just for the "warning everything is broken" module between the gauges.Have:

And if you are using old plugs, all bets are off.

If the vent's plugged the engine'll run and rev fine until you get on the road, then it'll pull a vacuum in the tank and basically run out of gas until it sits for a few minutes and the air pressure equalizes enough for the fuel to flow down to the carbs again.
That'd beat the heck out of changing jets again or messing up that pretty blue wiring.

"Mmm, could be!" (munching on a carrot) but have you checked the fuel tank filler cap to see if the vent is plugged up?

Found/cleaned the vent holes,
Literally, runs PERFECT!!!!
I had to change plugs and put pilot screws at 4 turns, and she purrs, and HAULS ASSSSSSS!!!!!!
Now it's time for all the cosmetics, well before that, the brakes, and a steering damper, and new front rubber.
I seriously can't believe this entire time it has just been a clogged freaking vent hole!
before I uncloged It I went on one more test ride, and checked the fuel filter.
it was at the same level as the other, but I guess a vacuum was keeping it at that level and choking the carbs!!!
Seriously I can't thank you all enough.
ESPECIALLY YOU 3Phase!!!

Right on! That's about the best news I've had all day except for my new clutch springs showing up! Yeah, it's been one of those days.
It's happened to me and a lot of other folks, glad you got it fixed now put it back together and go ride somewhere!
