And the red for power, right? If I tie all the black wires together and ground them that should be acceptable, but where should I get the power for the red wires? Thanks
    Hi Jared,
the PC police insist that you can't call yourself that any more, these days you are "Chromatically Challenged".
And yes, run the black wires to ground and steal power from the wire that goes to the tail light to feed the red wires.

Does anybody know what these are?

Also, can someone take a picture or explain to me ho the spring on the rear brake lever is supposed to be assembled? I can't figure it out. It's the spring that retracts the lever that goes into the rear master cylinder. The microfiche doesn't show anything. Thanks

          Hey Rev,

I don't have any photos, but the spring grabs the brake lever from underneath to push it upwards. The other end wedges/leverages against the frame with tension to keep the brake lever UP.

Those parts look like they might go to the airbox, but not sure.

Those pieces are brackets to retain the front brake hoses using one of the fender bolts on each side and the clamp on the brake hose.

I am trying to hook up a digital dash to my 79 standard. I need to find the wire for the tach. I can't seem to find it on the wiring diagram. Also, I am color blind and I cant figure out the difference between the right turn signal and the oil light. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

                    Hey Rev,

Your digital dash won't work with the xS11 tach wire anyways!!! Our tachs are electronic, but they read pulses from 1 leg of the 3 legs/phases of the Alternator, not the ignition coils! Your dash unit should provide info about connecting the signal wire to the negative side of one of the ignition coils,(you will have to run a wire) and hopefully it will have a variety of cylinder settings, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 to select from. You will want the 2 cylinder setting IIRC.

As for the turn signal and oil light, if you have the battery still installed, just put your voltmeter on the wire, and turn the key on....if you get power, then it's the oil light....it comes on with key on, and goes OFF when pressure reaches enough to shut switch off. Turn signal will have no power until you hit the turn signal switch!

ok, so i hooked up the battery to see if my connections worked and I looked at my fuse box and i am missing the large cable that connects to what i gather is the starter motor switch. here is a pic

i have know idea where that cable is, i need to find it or make a new one. Does this wire terminate at the starter motor? Thanks

                      Also, what is this fuse?

That would be correct. See if there's a wire coming out of the starter and trace it back.

The other fuse clip is for the accessory terminal right next to it. No need to fuse it up yet. Maybe later when you add stuff like a cigarette lighter.

I would say just ditch the accessory fuse holder. No sense using that old glass fuse when you have slots to spare in the fuse box.

                              Hey Nate,

Oh contrare! The AUX screw terminals are handy for wiring up accessories. You can pull the AUX terminal off of the backing plate, and route the wires to the fuse block so you can use the ATCO fuses and still retain the AUX terminal/screws access. You just have to rewire it to bypass the OEM glass fuse slot...it wasn't hard, I just unscrewed the wires connected in the back of the assembly to reroute them thru the new fuseblock! Sorry, I don't have a diagram or photos.

Why bother messing with it when you still have to baypass the fuse? Just wire it to the fuse box in the first place! You are adding more unnecessary connections in a circuit.
