Yes. I have two inline filters between the Pingel fuel "outlet" and the carb "inlets" (not shown on my diagram, but would be just off the bottom of the page before the carbs). I wanted the filters to be as close to the gas entering the carbs as possable to catch anything that might be in the fuel system. You could use one filter between the "Y" fitting and the carb inlet's if you like

I have my fuel filter between the tank and the Pingel fuel valve. I would hate to run unfiltered gas thru my precious $100 vacuum valve in fear it may get full of crud and not close properly.

That is a good idea also, I have a rust free tank with like new OEM petcock screen filters in place (the only filters you got when these were new) then all new lines / connections to the Pingel, but you can't be too safe, even Trojans are only 99.9% safe, of so my dad tells me

Hello another question.I cleaned the carbs so they have no gas in them. They are going on bike.Did you have to prime these in any way to get the bike started? Does the gas flow immediately into carbs? Will this valve prevent gas from flowing down into lines?is it closed until the bike starts?

With a new Pingel valve hooked up you will need to "prim" the system by sucking on the vacuum hose from the Pingel with the petcocks in the "on' position. You can do this with your mouth as only a light suck is needed, or for 5 bucks or half a rock, the chick on the corner will do it

What is the problem with the OEM Fuse box and how can I tell if mine has been swapped out yet or not?

Also, would love some pics or diagrams of your Pingel setup. I fought for 6 weeks last summer about this only to find a leaky petcock. I don't have the OCTY, but have been thinking about it, this sounds like a better idea.

                    Thank you,

                    Steve

The brass clips that hold the fuses in weaken and get brittle over time and do not hold contact always and can cause intermittent contact. The glass fuses can look good but actually be bad, they can even pass a continuity test but not be able to flow enough current to work.

If the fuse box still has glass tube fuses then it is most likely original.

Just some thoughts on the installation-The Pingel petcocks i have on the bike have the 2 barbs coming out of them with on,off, and reserve and therefore could not plug the front hose so i had 2 hoses per petcock. They were run into a brass Y fitting and then i ran 2 filters.I had an issue with the fuel line as in the cold weather today (32 degrees) the lines don't go on the barbs too easy. When i installed them in my garage, i put the hoses in hot water to soften them and they went on easy that way.Today i was at my storage unit and didn't have that luxury. The hoses i had to run were longer than i wanted them to be.I had to use 3 brass Y fittings in order to install everything on the bike. Now i just need some warmer weather to install the battery and add some fuel to the tank.

It runs! I added a fresh gallon of gas, pulled out the choke, sucked on the vent line to fill up the float bowls and it started.Took a bit to get all of the float bowls to fill, but once it started it warmed up very quickly. I pushed in the choke and i had to turn down the idle knob but it runs really smooth.

It kind of looks like spaghetti with all the lines and fittings but it works and sounds real good too.I will check the spark plugs tomorrow to see what they look like.Cleaning the carbs thoroughly and taking my time also helped!
