Thats why i did the drawling, It is an easy way to use both OEM petcocks, get rid of the "PRIM" nipple's, not needed at all on my bike (if I ever need to prim the carbs, just suck on the Pingel vacuume line like the OEM manual says) i spent many $$$$$ on oil changes and lots of worry about bearing damage before the PINGEL, now, never again

Yep, I like the simple setup, one petcock, one vacuum shutoff valve, one filter. To each their own.. .

Hi Phil, I am not saying anything, most bikes only came with one petcock, as you know. The XS1100 frame to tank build made two just for better drain of the tank. With using one, just lean the bike and swish the fuel to the other side and Wahla, back on the road

I think i will go this route.I like the octy as i don't have an issue with it.What i don't like is all the lines you have to hook up.But as far as plugging the line in the petcock-what did you use?

I cut two 1" OEM fuel line, then I had some steel "pins" left over from a DVD cabinet (the pins you push into the holes to hold the shelves up, these were solid steel, not wood, and they fit the line perfectly, can buy at hardware store) the I used four OEM wire hose clamps to hold / seal in place. Don't use vacuume caps, they will leak in time

OK i looked at my Pingel petcocks this morning. On-pointing towards front middle is reserve-off is pointing towards rear.So do i cap off any line?I wouldn't think so.Any suggestions? Should i take both lines and join them up into a "Y"? and feed them into the fuel valve?

The easyist way IMHO is to test it. I just turned mine to "OFF" the put two lines on both nipples and the other end in a catch can, open to "ON" and mark that nipple. On my bike "on" and "res" flow from the same nipple. Cap the other nipple

Does yours have a "prim" bung, that is what I capped as I don't use it ever. If not, why the two bungs per petcock? Mine are the OEM still and off is off to both bungs

No prime bung just on off and middle is reserve. When i move lever to off no gas flows out of anything. When i move to reserve then gas flows out of off side(earlier post wrong info)and on position gas flows out of other bung.I'm thinking now i have to run a Y into Pingel valve. And no i don't have stock petcocks, I have the Pingel ones. They have the 5/16" bungs on them.

Yes, if your pingel petcocks have a bung for "on" and one for "res" then a "Y" fitting will be needed if you want to keep your "res". The OEM pectcock uses a two level feed so "ON" and "RES" flow from the same bung.

I am calling them bung's for you, I like to play with nipples and leave the bungs alone myself

In looking at your diagram are you not using fuel filters? I started putting on my lines today and after adding the Y brass connector i will add the fuel filter after the Y splits into 1 on each petcock side. That way i have a filter in place.
