It's so deceptive. The bike is worn out, rough-looking, sounds dreadful when running and really, not much more than a parts bike. It's only 10 miles away from my house, so I was able to go and see it. I'm pleased I did!

      • It's still up for sale. Says it all, eh? Photos can be so deceptive!

I'm having a problem finding an XS1100 here for a reasonable amount of money!

            James,

Have you ever priced buying one from here (US) and having it shipped to you?

I tried for a Honda CBX1000. It's horrendously expensive, risk of damage, slow and expensive! Also, the problem is that, over here, the US styled XS1100's aren't that popular and they sell for less than the original European-styled ones.

There are some people on eBay who import from the USA but they are usually sad old wrecks with seized engines and, inevitably, the styling looks weird for over here!

It sounds like a bag of spanners. I'd say the speedo has been interfered with..... It's a really rough bike and not even a particularly good spares bike, since it's in such poor condition....

                • Last of the lot

                  Dear All

I still have some rear left side wheel bearings available. However, this is 100% absolutely, deadly-serious, cross-heart-and-hope-to-die, the LAST lot I'll ever be able to get. It definitely is the END as far as getting any more is concerned.

So... if anyone wants one, especially all the new members I've seen registering lately, who may not be aware of this thread, please do let me know OK?

I would advise newly registered members to read this thread from the start. You'll soon get the picture and may wish to have a bearing for the future or maybe even now.

Honest, Crazy Steve, these are the very last lot! (he never believes me..) I CANNOT get any more!!! I've done my dangest to sort out what has been a huge problem and done pretty well, I reckon. However, the well has dried up....

It's now in the mail to you and will be there in approx 10 days. One day, you'll be pleased you bought that bearing! Keep it safe... they wander off on their own

Ha! I'll take that as a compliment! I have single-handedly solved the hitherto insurmountable problem of the rear wheel bearing. Gone are the days of all those threads about two ball bearings side by side, and everyone flexing their mental muscles on how to get round the failure of that titchy little part. Oh no... the clever ones amongst us are sittin' purty witha stockpile of them, eh? I see a lot of new arrivals on the forum...oh callow, newbies, I hope they don't learn the hard way.... after stocks run out...

Thanks for thinking of others, James, and offering these bearings to us while they last.
