Forgot the best ever mod--the 750/850 final drive mod, this makes it such a comfortable bike to ride.

    XS1100SH 1981
Regular Handlebars, original SH bars are a real PAIN in the wrist
    Modern Fuse Block, original disintigrated
Vetter Fairing, nice for winter and rain
    750/850 final drive mod
Tcat Fork Brace, keepin it stiff
AGM battery, I'll never own another lead/acid M/C batt.
    Stainless Steel Lines, feeling solid
Totally no second gear, saves on shifting, PITA to change
Tcat SOFCA (Spin on filter/oil cooler adapter, single unit)
Dyna Green coils, originals split after about 45,000 miles

I have an 82 xj1100 and I need a new final drive. What's up with the swap? Why is it so good? Could I use a final drive from 80 xs850 on my bike?

The 750 & 850's had a different gear ratio in the final drive. Putting it on an XS/XJ1100 will drop your RPM (IIRC about 500?) for the same given speed compared to stock.

I believe the 850 final drives are a little more stout than the 750's. I believe there is a tech tip on how to install one...
