    even a pretty weak excuse is a lot stronger than sweet eff all, eh?
    As a comparison, look at the rear swingarm on any bike you care to mention.
    Not a single one of them has two separate arms; they are all either a U-shape or some kinda triangulated framework. Ask yourself, why?
    Also note the brake torque arms on the photo that counteract an Earles fork's tendency to lift when braking.
    And yes, lots of examples of LL forks with separate links.
    1950s Douglas, 1960's Hondas, etc. etc. They all flexed.

      1978 E XS1100 purchased for =$600.00
      crap load of time spent modifying it = Priceless
      My bike has the XS motor but can't really call it XS11
      (or at least it still looks like the XS motor)
      it has about 50% of the frame left from the XS bike

            Headlight

            I STill need ideas for my head light..

            I could make it or purchase it:
            criteria has to look modern.

            1) Was thinking of two strips of intense LED lights. 3 inchs wide each 1/2 tall.
            2) the HID light shown in my latest picture.. its a Subaru STI driving light
            I need more choices.. and hopefully you all will help me choose .

              I think that smaller lights would look good on the bike. The focus wouldn't be on the light then, but where it should be, on those forks.

              Personally, I think that if you used some small 2 - 2.5" round projectors, mounted them in the center of the forks. Put one where the current light is and the other below on the lower crossbar.

              Projectors look modern and I think the vertical placement would compliment the forks.

              I'll try to find an image of what I mean.

                  progress

                  No that is not where the wheel goes.. its just there until i get the front arms installed. ..

                  in progress..
                  Im still waiting on some ideas for my headlights..

                  after the initial fit i will send these forks off to have dipped..
                  Carbon fiber wrapped..

                    how much longer wheelbase will it have when done? or is that an illusion?

                          the front wheel will be almost in the stock position when i am done with that..
                          the rear however is about 7 inchs further back than stock..
                          the wheel not currently in the correct spot. its just sitting there to keep my bike up.. it sits back about 8 inchs from its current location....


                          That first light i have seen before i do like it. but its much smaller than it looks. I saw one on a bike parked in a parking lot and its really small.
                          like 4 inchs wide.. I think there is a 6 inch version out there which is what i would be after if i were to go that way. Thank you for the feedback and pic.

                          the stacked lighting hmm i have never seen that before. interesting..
                          when i get more ideas i think ill take a poll..

                                I do like the Vrod light. I tried to find a similar one from ducati but the way the light is set up you have to buy a bunch of brackets etc.. The VRod light looks a but more simple to install..
