Yeah, understood that it's something to do when the tire is changed or the wheel is off as a general rule. How about a mileage number in terms of how often to do it?
The reason I ask is the rear tire has 3,000 miles, and has A LOT of life to go, can't hardly tell the tire has worn. I'm used to getting 5,000 miles-7,000 miles on my rear tires (V Strom 1000, ZRX 1200, Bandit 1200, ST 1300) and I can tell this one will go a whole lot longer than that.
So, thus my question about mileage vs when I put a new tire on. Probably the same thing applies to greasing the splines on the FD/wheel interface as well. How many miles is often enough if the rear tire really doesn't have to come off for any other reason than to lube the splines or bearings?
