That is the same answer that i just got was that NTN has 94 in stock, so it looks like to me that you can order these from any bearing supplier in your area that can buy from NTN, and it would be a good idea to have them check how many that are in stock at the NTN warehouse before you order them, sorry if this is all redundit info, but it is info just the same.

OH and the p/n na5904 as yall said is the right p/n
        Sorry for the confusions

It is amazing how things like that change. That bearing was deemed to be defunk and unobtainable not all that long ago. A few here and there had been tracked down and bulk purchased, and resold here (not at a profit from what I know).

So to now find it is actively being produced is a very nice piece of news!! Excellent work men!!

Well crap! I guess the extra one I ordered long ago for just when someone really, really needed one is now truly just an extra one.

The E.B. Atmus customer service guy emailed me after I inquired about placing the order for a couple bearings, and said....

"We have them in stock". "What do these go in? We have been getting a lot of inquiries"

Hope this increase in demand he's noticed doesn't cause them to raise the price for future orders, so I ordered 2 of them. There I go, contributing to the demand...

FWIW, is it just a matter of time before this particular bearing needs replacing in the rear wheel, or will a well cared for bearing last more or less forever if, all else equal, nothing else is wrong with the bearing to begin with?

When I got my 80 SG, I took off the rear wheel, replaced the right side bearing and just packed a ton of new grease in the left bearing and called it good. Didn't need to change the right side bearing per se, but since the bike was 28+ years old ,figured no harm. No issues thus far...

With that said, how often in real life experience should a guy tend to the left side bearings? I have about 3,000 miles on my 80 SG since I got it and re-greased the left side bearing. The new right side bearing was a sealed unit vs the old one not being sealed.

I re-grease my left side bearing at each tire change. I've changed the bearing for a new one once in the course of four tire changes over ten years.

I have over 100K miles on a left rear bearing. It's still fine (knock), I repack it every so often.
