Well, at first I was thinking I really hope I/we are right about this pin, I'd hate to get in there and see all is good. But then he told me that his first test ride, it would not stay in first gear for nothing. I knew it was time for a gear swap/repair and the shaft inspection was just part fo the project. So, I felt alot better about tearing it all back down, again. At this point he should be able to put the pans on in his sleep!
As to the shaft, it was kind of toast, it had been sliding around and been eaten into by the middle driven gear past that cutout.
