    A quick trip down to the local "do it yourself" buggy wash may help! Spray the bike with a de-greaser, carry down to the high pressure wash, and clean!
    Just a thought....
    Painting the engine isn't that bad. If you are NOT going to strip the paint, you will NOT need the primer. Just use a GOOD engine enamel, and coat it with two or three THIN coats.
