Forks are installed

After F***ing around with getting those DAM dampening rods out of the forks I finally got both forks rebuild with Progressive springs and installed them. I guess I need to decide if I will use the air caps or go with the standard caps. At least it's starting to look a bit like a bike now.

That harness is off my 78 restored bike and was cleaned with the rubber renewer. It does not soften plastic but does clean it up real nice. I found a NOS harness that was installed on my restored bike so this one was "ready to go" and put on this bike. Saved a lot of time having it on hand. A lot of the parts that are going into this bike are off the restored bike. I saved everything as I found NOS parts.

Little bit at a time

I took a break in the afternoon to watch the SENS win their game over Pittsburgh and then puttered around in the garage and got the front fender, brake keepers, fork brace, main switch and a few other things done. Hoping to get the front brakes on tomorrow. Parts are sitting in coating remover now ...:-) More pics as is usual.

Thanks Paul. She's coming along a bit at a time now. I wish I had the hardware I need so I won't have to do any back tracking to change it out when I'm done. Weather's starting to look ship shape ... Got your bike ready for when the SPRING switch gets flicked?

I just picked up on this thread from the beginning. I'm responding to the "I wish my garage was that clean" comments.

My garage was such a mess that I couldn't get anything done...ever! I don't have organization skills. I found a solution. I hired a professional organizer. Yes, it cost some money, but it was more than worth it. Everything is cleaned up and organized, and the best part is that it happened while I was out of town. No, she did not put stuff where I would put it. It doesn't matter because it looks great and I can find everything! It's easy to change it now if I want to.

Now, I can work on my bikes!

Hey Jim ... This one is the modified bike that is intended for day in and day out use so I don't have to use the restored bike. This one will go together as clean as the other one but after that ... she's a "runner"

The engine was full striped of paint and buffed to look like that. It looks shinier then it really is because of the camera flash.

Thanks for the kind words ...
None of the stuff (except the hop up parts) on the bike is new. It's just clean and if metal wire wheeled with a fine brass wheel. Soft enough that even if I manage to contact the wheel with my fingers, there's no bleeding. The only new stuff in the garage is the tool boxes. It's a collection of a life time of twisting wrenches on projects and I am sort of OLD eh :-)
