    And so it begins ... Another bike building project

    I finally got the garage straightened up enough to get this hop-up bike project on the go. New head bearings and Triple trees are installed. Next time I put work into this project, which I hope will be soon, I will mount all the rubber grommets and install the wiring harness. I will pretty much work on the rolls chassis for a while and then in goes the engine. i will as usual post lots of photos.


    A reasonably straightened out garage




    Ready to start putting on grommets and wiring.

    That is my issue. I need to get my garage straight so that I can move ahead on the MS project without having to stop every 5 seconds and find one of my tools. If I ever move again, the house is going to be the general dumping place and the garage will be organized FIRST!

      At least you have a garage. I have to do everything in my driveway when the weather's nice... Not fun in Houston when the humidity gets around 80%.

        79XS - NICE man-cave. I like all the all the organized shelving, and your compressor looks awesome. Sweet.
        I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

          Looks good so far ,it's always nice to see a XS coming back to life. I'm sure it will look at good as your previous projects.
          I should have bought one of those bike platforms when they were on sale at Princess Auto. You've had yours for a while now how do you like it so far?

              The bike lift is handy in deed and even more so when my back is sore. I just wish it was about 6 inches wider and about 6 inches longer. It can be awkward getting the bike on to the main stand because even in the down position the lift is about 5 inches off the floor. It would be REAL sweet if it was set down in the floor. But overall .. a good buy and i am happy with it. They go on sale about every 3 to 6 months.

                Space is SO TIGHT here that I have no choice but to be very organized. Those shelves are 7 inches wide which is just right for most stuff without having to remove a bunch of stuff looking for what you know is there somewhere.

                  As they say, size has nothin' to do with it....

                  The whole key IS organization. Of course, entropy always sets in until next time you 'clean up', but at least you have hope. LOL

                  Me, 32' x 36' square garage, five toolboxes, and I still have trouble findin' stuff...

                    I find that the biggest problem is that every time I reorganize it I can't find stuff cause I MOVED it LOL LOL I recently got the mid section that goes with my big tool box so now all my tools are in one place.

                      Looking great Rob,
                      I hardly recognize it compared to your last pics.Nice to have a compessor.
                      If your garage is anything like mine it will be cluttered again in no time.

                          I see you've gotten your compressor issues worked out too ... are you going to paint this one too? ... anxiously awaiting all the info and pics on this project !! Looking forward to it ...
