Sounds great Yahman,,,nice pics too. I had an idea it could work and you did it.....Remember these things work on all the YICS bikes,,,,,zillions of 550-1100 xj's. Only question is, what is the metal type used,,,stainless or regular steel>? Also,,,is it fairly easy to pull out after everything is warmed up due to expansion or super tight? I am asssuming you left it in for the test of performance, yes?

why do some of you folks want to permanently block off the YICS passage?

Read through the thread, and you will see that it HELPS the performance of the bike! The YICS was developed to help meet emission standards, NOT for performance.

It wasn't my intention to block it off for good, I just wanted to experiment a little. I was a big fan of the YICS system, but my XJ1100 just runs so much better without it. If I want the YICS system back, it would only take 1 minute to return it to original.

hmm.. now I agree that syncing the carbs is a PITA unless you block off the YICS passage.. and maybe it helps with performance on a XJ1100.. but on my smaller XJ's, I could not tell much difference whether the YICS passage was blocked off or not. If anything, fuel mileage dropped by 1-2 mpg. could be a YMMV kinda thing.

I am in the process of development, production however usually has some effect on the final end product and this design has changed a lot due to this factor. I am working on the production prototype and if all works well with that one, I will hopefully have something ready for further testing in week or two. The original Eliminator is still in my bike and working great. The new one is intended to be more of a performance mod than a tuning tool. It is meant to be left in place once it's installed, thus giving a complete seal of the port. It can still be easily removed, if you want to return things to their original state.

Thanks for your interest; I will keep you updated on its progress.

Yahman, I could use at least two of those Eliminators....one for the xj1100 and one for the xj550. Another one for the wall to look at and appreciate good old ingenuity. Let us know when the big rollout will be. Remember all YICS engines could use it,,,550,650,750, 1100.....many out there. Probably be a good EBAY item, if you so desire. Regards, Mike in San Diego

Wow, this eliminator tools sounds too good to be true, I want one. I'll have to see if a local friend with a lathe can make me one. Thanks for the dimensions. I'll let you know how mine turns out.
