Well, I sent another email off to the seller inquiring about a lot of the things you all brought up here. Hopefully I'll hear back today from him.
I'm not a person who likes to let an injury keep me down, so to speak. I got an award in Basic Training called the "Hard Charger Award" for doing everything w/o so much as a single complaint even though I had a hip injury. However, that doesn't mean that I don't know my own limits. Thanks for the concern!
I want to ride at this point more than make it perfect, but fixin' her up will come with time, I'm sure.
WW2 bomber, huh?
My first mod might be getting quieter exhaust. If I'm not mistaken, the 4-1 exhaust is quieter, right? What's the one that looks like a cone, like the one in this YouTube video?

XS as a first bike... why not. But treat it with respect and know your dis/abilities. It is definetly not a learners bike, but do an MSF course and you should be fine.
If you plan just to ride it... do it. If you plan to make it picture perfect... well.. it will take some $$$.
The exhaust is not stock and it is loud. Had similar one on a small guzzi... sounded like a ww2 bomber
Good luck!

I don't follow the new modern bikes/models, so I didn't check to see what those models that you suggested were. Yeah, I've seen some of the upright style bikes they are making, just didn't make the connection!
) could get it road worthy so you could RIDE it to your home....perhaps after you finish the MSF???

Either he got a local bid for it, or felt you/we knew too much about the bike re: all the questions, and just decided not to sell it at this time??
I was very excited about buying this bike.
