  • being that I will want all frame wielding done at once .. is the relocation of the upper shock mount points mandatory with the ZXR swing arm? I just recently bough progressive suspension for the front and back of the hop up bike and will want to use those shocks. If only the adapters are needed .. where are they available?

      • So the conversion kit is only 350? And we have to find a swingarm? And then piece the little stuff together? Did i read that right?

And what about brake lines? Do those extend easily or do we have to mod them as well to reach and seal right.
Yes it's a damn nice bike, yes it's in REALLY good condition, yes it would be a shame to chop it, BUT damn how cool would it look with ape hangers?

that is a good looking wheel. I take it the rim is alloy powdercoat?....After you've ridden the soft tail, the hard-tail will be a pain...literally

                Cool headlight choice too

This is what it looks like before it goes on the xs1100 frame

The right-side XS11 frame bolt has been turned down 5mm to make up for the right side compression fitting/spacer that goes over the custom pivot shaft and compresses the swingarm using stock xs11 swinarm bolts...
Hey Rob, the right side needle bearing stay, (The 4th part from the right side), I feel was unnecessary because the needle bearings are in a hard-pressed housing inside the swingarm that pivot on the swingarm shaft...I have tried to remove 2 different needle bearings from 2 diff ZRX swingarms and they don't come out without ALOT of force......

To all others, I sold the last Bolt-on Chaindrive housing I had to a friendly Texan before the holidays and I won't be making any for a while...I have another project that's been on hold for too long that I am gearing up for.....

                      • Well .. as luck would have it I found and acquired a complete bolt on chain drive conversion kit on e-bay yesterday for 55 bucks. Go figure I would stumble upon this item only after buying the swing are and other parts for the DIY set up. This e-bay set up includes the middle gear unit, swing arm and a rear wheel conversion sprocket for the standard 17 inch wheel. Looks like the ring gear gets removed from the wheel and then this sprocket replaces it. Once I receive this item I Will have to decide which swing arm set up to use and i am hoping that the alignment of xschops middle gear unit will match up with the rear sprockets position. I was surprised that one one was bidding on this item given the interest in the conversion that my "my space" page gets. I didn't expect to win the item but through a few bucks at it for fun. Here's a few photos of the e-bay set up.

                            • I saw that item on ebay...would have bid on it but the shipping was astronomical.

Good buy tho, at the price you got it for.

He had stated that the shipping price to the USA was in error but did quote me between $90 and $350 depending on how fast I want the item. If I take the slow shipping method ( 10 to 31 days) it is in deed a real good buy.
