Well I must have must up in my arithmetic cause according to my calculation my c/l to ineer edge rear sprocket is 4.4375" or 112.7mm. Thast is almost what you said yours was Pggg. and according to my measurements and calculations I needed to move my front sprocket out on the middle gear shaft 12.7 mm. That would almost be 16mm to the opposite direction of yours. I screwed something up somewhere. Pggg Do you know what the distance is from c/l to the inner edge of your front sprocket is? According to my measurements(not 100% accurate mind you) it should be about 97mm? Sorry bout all the questions , but do you know the distance between your outer edge of your tire and the inner edge of the rear sprocket. I think I may have to switch to a 520 chain cause right now according to my calculations I only have 12 mm or so between my tire and the inner edge of my sprocket. If the 530 chain is that wide I am probably gonna rub? I went to this website http://www.gizmology.net/sprockets.htm and it says the rollers on a 530 are 3/8ths wide which is 9.525mm. That would put the plates connecting the rollers at 3.868mm wide. That is a freakin heavy duty chain. Now that I did the math I should be OK. That would give me almost 5 mm between the chain and tire. A little close for comfort, but what do you think. Any one please chime in . the more advice I can get the better.
    Thanks

I guess you can't delete a post you have submitted already. I asked a really stupid question and tried to delete the post, but don't know how or can't so I wrote this. Cheers

Whew! I'm gettin confused now. Mind you it doesn't take a lot for that to happen About the ring on the chrome cover, if it ain't cut off, it ain't gonna reach the bearing. Now, that 112mm c/l to inner sprocket is pretty much identical to mine, you noticed where I have my front sprocket on the front spline, it's DEAD ON with my rear sprocket, the wheel is aligned with the front wheel down the bike centreline, give or take a few insignificant mm's probably, Audi an O-ring chain is the only way to go for long life, I had 520 non O-ring chains on my XS and the torque/power stretched em' like there was no tomorrow Anyways, if you've got a 112mm c/l - sprocket distance on that wheel, you'll have no problems wuth clearance, I'm sure you'll find it'll work out in the end..

Ok, let me see if I can ask this a little better. If our c/l to inner edge of rear sprocket are pretty much the same, I cant figure out why I would need to move my front sprocket away from the engine while you moved yours toward it? My math or measuring must be screwed up. That can be the only expanation. I can see how are c/l to rear sprocket could be similar as My chain will probably be alot closer to the tire than yours.

are your motor mounts installed, that would figure in a couple mm's? I plan on running a 530 o-ring like pggg said. IIRC the triumph rear is 530. it looks like the chain would have to be 3/4 inch wide...DID YOU get your left-to-cl measurement from my drawing? I am pretty sure it is correct for the xs11 frame....I will be getting the sprocket 14T that you guys figured out from SS....keep up the work, I've been putting forward controls on my chop from a Hayabusa the last couple o days....chop

yeah, motor is still in frame, and yes I got the c/l to left measurement from your drawing. Are you putting those controls on the front down tubes or just a little froward of the stock location?

                    location

just a little 1/2" lower than stock location.since my seat will be 1" taller than normal for my long legs. I am 6'2". I don't plan on hugging the corners anyway, so no big deal, also they will tuck in more towards the bike anyway.I am making brackets for them to bolt to....

That is a huge freakin chain!
I am actually makin my swing arm from scratch. gonna be similar to Sport bike extended swingarm. I am reusing the pivot point bearings and that is it. bought tubing for pivot point cut to size and machined out for bearings. Using 2 1/2 x 1" rectangle tubing to go back to the tire, using 2 1/2x4x3/8 angle iron for axle mounting. S/A will be 10 1/4" between inner edges(wide). My wheel uses a 3/4 axle so I have no idea right now for brakes. Would like to use stock stuff but still got to figure all that out. Kind of just got everything together and set it up(mock up) to see what it will look like and it is really stretched out right now. Ma have to cut the swing arm shorter. Gonna use a Busa rear mono shock. Here is a link to what it is going to resemble
scroll to the botoom of the page the one for the GSXR 600 most resembles it

                          if I had my ruthers

EBAY item 150064561241 would be my next choice from the triumph swingarm (I just wanted to be lazy when changing tire/chain)because it is a better design than the other two-sided s/a's (there is only one mounting point to weld to the xs frame and you don't have to move the battery!)....
