parts are in! yesterday my Genuine Mikuni pilot and main jets arrived from partsreloaded, my gaskets came in from mikesxs, and I 'spect I'll see my new float needle ass'lies (jetsrus) first of the week. I'll be reinstalling four identical 266/X-2 needle jets unless someone can fill in the mystery with the part number and a source on the other tubes. My carbs are 79s, in which specs call for different needle jets in the interior carbs than the exterior. I'm willing to put them back in because the bike is claimed to have been running as is at one time, and because the "jets for cooling" solution was abandoned by Yamaha anyway. Somebody stop me if I'm being crazy.

Yeah it's a pretty blue, but just because you're old is no excuse to buy a bagger. Fortunately I have wrenches.

ugh. My jetsrus float valve assemblies are K&L. I've learned to consider that profanity. Dare I put them to use?
I ended up doubled on float valves, as I got the carb kit from mikes, rather than just gaskets. Haven't ID'ed their manufacture yet."Venturered" 80 XS1100G - "DoraMax" getting sort of resto/destro ed.

I would get the Mikuni needles! IF you look at the K&L, you will probably find each needle's spring pushes at a different rate. This is NOT what you want. Go with the viton tip Mikuni needles and use the K&L seats, or return the jetsrus parts and just get needles and use the mikes seats. Big thing is ONLY the Mikuni Needles and jets.Ray Matteis

Thanks for confirming. i hate to be anal about stuff, but after the stern warnings regarding K&L jets, I've come to expect no good from anything they make."Venturered" 80 XS1100G - "DoraMax" getting sort of resto/destro ed.

Found some from partzilla. That is, if the seats match the photos."Venturered" 80 XS1100G - "DoraMax" getting sort of resto/destro ed.

Starting to put stuff back together. True to expectation, I am still finding failed cleaning duties as I go, but they're getting fixed. Should I lube the threads of jets, seats, diaphram cap screws or float screws? Saw it mentioned in vids, but not on this site. I trust y'all better than youtubers.Last edited by puskrat; 08-17-2016, 12:25 PM."Venturered" 80 XS1100G - "DoraMax" getting sort of resto/destro ed.
