What did you do to your bike today?

Put my riding gear on this morning went out to the bike to go to work ... noticed the keys in the ignition, with the key in the on position. :mad . Put the charger on the bike and took the cage to work (none of the other bikes are registered) very sad day.

I think I need to get another bike registered...

Being the outlaw I am I would have swapped the tags to another bike.

Another spring of love with Medusa

Well, its really going to be saturday for me. Im doing all this!

Hopefully the 2nd time is a charm. I have Medusa flipped over again working on the transmission after doing the dremel fix last year. First gear would not engage and spent the end of last season starting in second gear(which was horrible). I went through the entire bike sans major engine work. I recommend to anyone doing so that they spend a week here prior to attempting anything. In hindsight and spending a lot of time here referencing here for the last week, I wish I had spent time to eliviate a lot of mistakes and lost time.

Finished off my carb cleaning that I started a couple weeks, set the floats with the clear tube method. #4 float seemed to be a little off compared to the other three, now they are all spot on. Replaced the fuel line with tygon this time. Cleaned and re-oiled my K&N filter.

I then discovered that I have a bum spark plug boot! It is really loose on the spark plug and all the others are tight. So now I have to wait a bit for new boots, oh well.

I still need to finish off my replacement rear rim and clear coat it and put my new tire on there, current rubber is getting bare. Switching to a 16" rim. Then I will also do a 17" one the same way, as well as a front rim, all tubeless of course.

Well, if he was riding the Venture that's not an option.

That being said, I have a 79 engine in my 80 and the kick start has saved the day a couple of times.

Now I am drinking.

.......Hmmmm.....bout like it did for you when I was at Joe's last year.
Sure the second option was the better choice.

I was still trying to fix that stud from Joe's. Cannot drill the extractor. Greg says to melt it with Acetylene. I cant think of anything else to do.

Had to trash that left muffler bank. That blowout was catastrophic.

Hey John,
Still fighting that stud huh?
Not that my suggestions are always the best but,
I wonder what kind of drill bit might be available that is hollow in the middle
that would allow you to drill around the broken stud followed by filling with heliarc and tapping a new set of threads?
Beyond that, are you still looking for a set of standard exhausts?

Likely just a left bank special exhaust. Right bank still looks OK. Of course the whole set looked great when I put it on at Andreas' house last summer on the trip.

Interesting idea Joe - I can't heliarc and dont know anyone who can - now you are talking about commercial stuff - swapping heads is probably easier (and cheaper).
