Hey, Poprock! I PM'd you. Did it not go through? I was wondering if there is a specific reason for having an XJ head on your bike.

Sure is. It was available, less than 20 K on it. jugs available to match, and except for the YICS pipe, the same as the SG head. Original head had a stripped plug hole, the threaded insert wouldn't stay in place and aluminum chips had burnt a valve. We put in new rings, installed the XJ jugs and head, and went merrily on our way...until a cam sprocket shed it's bolts. But that is another story. BTW, sorry I missed your message.1980 XS 11 Special: The King of Kong, 9th wonder of the world. Pacifico fairing, chopped shield, Yamaha hard bags, Diamond seat, T-Kat fork brace, XJ top end, YICS Eliminator, '80 carbs from Spyder Cycle Works, K&N Air filter, Fuse block, stainless steel valves & reg/rect from Oregon MC Parts. Raptor CCT, XJ air shocks, 850 FD, Sportster mufflers, Standard handle bar, Tusk Bar Risers, SS braided brake lines. Cat Eye speedometer. HID projector beam headlight, LED running lights.

lots!
Nice morning ride with SWMBO and son as we took Great Ranger and Little Ranger out for breakfast. Highlight was watching a Dad in a HD shirt park by and eyeball our bikes a bit on his way in
Spent midday finishing up carbs on Rising Sun. One diaphragm with pinholes of light. I had liquid rubber on it and back on thebike.
I drained all gas from tank and think Im gonna take it from yellow to dark green next weekend.
Afternoon, SWMBO and I rode downtown for a movie, then tooled around some neighborhoods and breweries slowly home.
A great bike day.

That sounds like a very nice day, JW. All I did to mine was ride it to a meeting. When I got home the lock fell off the top box. Oh, well.1980 XS 11 Special: The King of Kong, 9th wonder of the world. Spent all day yesterday trying to get the 80G to run...finally found the blown fuse(should have been the first place I looked) on the ignition circuit and got her started, now to finish cleaning the carbs.Ty

Will buy a Sylvania Silverstar bulb to put in the trunk for just-in-case purposes. I don't trust the cheap bulb it came with.Don

Well, I just finished the pick coil wire fix and changed all fluids. Now, all I have to do to the "G" is get the rear brake to work, wash, and ride.1979 XS110F, Stock

BTDT, Nate. Only 6 of the nine actually go anywhere unless you have electrical accessories in the fairing. My colors didn't continue either. I had to change both sides of the plug because the holders had cracked off and the pigtail would disconnect about 2 times a mile. I hope it all works for you.1980 XS 11 Special: The King of Kong, 9th wonder of the world.
