Again... I have lots of witnesses... several on here that'll vouch for me. Not only would I at LEAST stick with you in the corners, I would smoke you coming out of them. BUT... my XJ does seem to corner better than many of the XS11s I ride with. Or maybe I'm just dumber than they are.. (Shut up Kat.)
The 1300/1400 crotch rockets get me in the straights.. obviously.. but I'll catch them when we get to the corners. I have a buddy that wants me to go run my XJ at a track he rides at... says I would embarrass most of them on this old bike.
So... get a fork brace on your 11, along with some good tires, and I bet it will surprise you if you'll let it. You'll wear out some footpegs and boot soles, but they'll corner better than you give them credit for.

Seriously though the Yamaha 1100 is no match for the SR500 in the twistys, even today's crotch rockets are hard pressed to stay with me unless the pilot is exceptional.
