if you look closely, there is an old Yamaha in that mess.....
You can call it ugly.....I'll call it "prepared". I'm betting if I needed any seasoning or BBQ sauce while cooking after a ride, you'd be the "go to" guy.

I am going to say the vetter fairing I have that 81 that looks good i think cause of the rest of the bags on it and the square headlight but i think the XJ's look like hell with the vetter on it the bare look is the way to go.

I agree.. this looks like crap and I'd be sooo embarrassed to be seen on something this terrible.
That's probably we he made the thing so fast.. so he could keep out in front of everyone to avoid them being shamed from riding with him. lol.

This is your scoot Tod? I happen to have an 84 venture with those exact same sidebags and would be very interested in the mounting setup. It would be nice to interchange them from the XS to the venture and back.
Nope.. not my bike.. but it came to mind when I read that statement.

It's not a Vetter, but it's still a fairing. I like the looks. Don't get me wrong, I like the looks of a naked bike also, but the practicallity of actually riding it like that? Not in any way, shape, or form for me. I make a huge parachute and my gas mileage drops considerably without it, I have a much better top speed WITH it, and when I get somewhere, I'm not wore out from fighting the wind and noise.

I have had mixed feelings and results with my Vetter so I've decided to go back to the naked look. It just looks better without it. I have excellent riding gear that is weatherproof, but fighting the wind will be part of the experience. As spoiled as I am about having a fairing.I can live without it. Then again most of my LD trips are on my fully faired ST1100. But that design if fully integrated and doesnt stick out like the Vetter does. Now if I had an '81 Venture like ossjughead or Motoman's that would be a different story. As for MAXIMAN's beautiful XJ that Tod posted pics of...well that would be another exception...a rather fine one at that. Its a pity we no longer see that bike here at Ch.11...It supposedly was sold to someone here in NJ but I'll be darned if I've ever seen it
What do you guys think about just the clear fairing made by National Cycle? My bike still looks rough or I would post a photo but i like the look ,along with the king/queen seat. I found a website that sell them for 128$ taxes & shipping included
It doesn't matter what "we" think, it's your bike, you're the one who has to like it, and I don't care how rough your bike is, it can't look any worse than mine does. do some looking around, you'll find a picture of it somewhere on the forum. I call it the "set on fire and rolled down a hill" look. feel free to post a pic or two, we like pics, have a nice day and ride safe
