Comfort Zone
Sounds good Phil. My days of sleeping under the stars are well behind me. A hot shower and a comfy bed are required now.I May Be Crazy, But I Have A Good Time.

Hi
I have been trying to get a hotel/motel to stay in in Bancroft to no avail .
I can get the Swiss inn http://www.swissinn.northcom.net/index.htm in Denbigh
but not in July.I know wrong time of the year for "no room at the inn"
but all of June is open
If you guys are still interested please reply ASAP with a weekend preference in June . The Inn has 6 rooms with double beds 1 room with 1 queen bed and 1 room with 1 queen and a pull out couch .
the other news is that I have negotiated prices as follows 2 people per room
$95.70 tax inc. per room with breakfast $103.40 with breakfast and dinner $149.50 with 3 people I will have to check with them so I guess we could have cots in the rooms . did I mention please respond asap

Hi Jim
Axel lives closer to the area, perhaps he can assist with finding accommodations. I can also check in the Whitney area if this helps. There are 4 motels in Whitney and one good place to eat. I stay in Whitney when working in Algonquin Park.
Huntsville is not that far either its 90 minutes from Whitney, maybe equal distance from Ottawa and Toronto, with a lot more choices.
Eaganville another good area.

Hi Phil,
The rivers source is in Algonquin Park and rambles through many communities starting at Whitney and a couple lakes to end up at Arnprior where it drains into the Ottawa River
The river's name comes from an Algonquin band of the region known as "Matouweskarini", meaning "people of the shallows".
Hmmmmm... maybe we could call it the Shallows Riders Run1980 XS11 LG (Diablo)

I have a couple of contacts looking into accommodations as well.
Last weekend in June (26,27,28) might be a good one to choose. Weather should be good and, hopefully most of the black flies will be gone.
Has August been considered?1980 XS11 LG (Diablo)

There are several motels in Bancroft and area. I've stayed at two different one's when up there snowmobiling. The Swiss Inn is now the Best Western which is right in town and the other is just out side of town (the name escapes me right now but I'll check my records)Paul

The Best Western is $130 a night which lets me out and probably most others too.

Great minds...
), July can be stinkin' hot and sticky
while August's temps can be more moderate and comfortable, especially when suited up
. Downside... amount of daylight diminishes and can be quite noticeable especially towards the end of the month
.
