Will the Black flies be gone by the first week end in July ??
I don't go North of Steeles until the Black Flies are gone

Good point . Bugs are bad enough around here . I started thinking it might be more interesting on some other weekend than the bike thing .

Thngs that bite

My experience is that there are ALWAYS black flies in that area as soon as you get close to the bush. New Liskeard is a fairly open area and are not usually a problem. but the miserable little mosquitoes come out at sunset. I would definitely advise a windshield for the trip. Rick

Northern Ontario Rally

Hey Phil, looks like you have enough XSers for a Northern Ontario Rally.

Bancroft

Sounds good to me . About 2 hours to Bancroft .I pass through on my way to the GTA each year but I have not done a lot of riding around that area . I hear there are some dandy roads . It would be worth getting a room and being there for a fresh start some Saturday morning . If you were coming this way I would definately meet you . Might be a little far for the Ottawa guys but maybe not if we made a weekend out of it ! This is a great idea . I'm excited about it .

So how does the 18th of July sound ? arrive in Bancroft Fri night the 17th dinner chat whatever.
Sat go for a ride using as many 500 series roads I can remember or look up. Lunch in Wilno or at Nolets in Hardwood lake. Back to Bancroft for dinner and a better meet and greet session Sun. am breakfast then plot our way home then ride off into the morning or noon sunlight

Well it looks like a rally to me. I think we need a name for this event.
Bancroft Rally..... cries out for improvement.
Once we have a name we should start a thread in the rallies section with the route basically set and the motel selected.
Jim Please call the motel to make sure we can all get rooms that week end before we get all commited we better have a place to lay our heads.

Count me in as well. That's a great area to ride and one we had talked about last year. It will be nice to see it come to be.
A good place to eat (great food) and possibly stay, is at the Swiss Inn - located at the junction of Hwy's 41 and 28 at Denbigh.
