    Malicious

I didn't get to see anything there. It just started making so many connections that my computer froze up and I had to reboot to get rid of it.

Actually, I have BAs in history and mass communications and I've been a political junkie since I worked for more than 10 years as a political reporter for four different Texas newspapers, Dick, but I respect that you are entitled to your opinion.

If you want to read some more statistics about the current Bush's economy, look at this web site: http://thebusheconomy.com/page2_The_Truth.html
Any internet address that ends in "The_Truth.html" is automatically suspect in my book.

Maybe the mods can move this thread a little more to the left <------

Then I hope you did your research on 9/11 and how our Government pulled off this criminal act?

Winterhawk, why in the world would you believe that a bunch of fools as incompetent as the Bush government could have managed to pull off 9/11? And then been able to keep it quiet for seven plus years? Give me a break.

Well, for one, I don't think this discussion is going left. Look at the results of the poll, there are more votes for McCain than Obama. Second, the link posted by Seccubus makes for some very interesting reading. Third, not many of the pro-McCain arguments link to any background information or sites that bolster McCain's positions.

I don't consider myself on the left, I am a registered independent. As such I have been getting lots of calls, robo and personal, from both campaigns, 3 last night alone plus 1 from the American Cancer Society reminding me it is National Cancer Awareness Month.

Whichever side you are on, do some research into the positions and policies of your candidate. Don't rely on sound bites and rhetoric. Educate yourself, then make the decision that seems best to you.

It is going to be a close race. My fear is that we will end up with a polaraized nation for the next 4 years, with disasterous results. To avoid that I am supporting the candidate I feel would govern closest to the center of political spectrum: Obama. I supported McCain in his earlier bid because I felt he represented the center, but he has bought into (pandered, IMHO) to the far-right of the Republican party this election cycle and no longer represents that middle ground.

I'm not thrilled with either of these guys

I consider myself Independant as well...it comes down to which one I feel is the lesser of the 2 evils. In which case it appears to me that Obama fits that description.
In the long run it matters little to us everyday ppl...not much is gonna change..despite all the rhetoric

                        I tend to agree

I was for McCain in the beginning, but he has not put forward any real answers, only attacks. I seems he doesn't have any answers and thinks he can get elected by making everyone believe he is a better American than Obama which is probably true, but no answers means I'll vote for an independent showing I don't support either of the major choices. It just scares the hell outa me that we might be controlled by a totally Democratic congress and President. I'm sure if that happens they will do all sorts of things I don't like.

Now here's someone with a vision. It's too bad he didn't get the nomination but most Republicans are brainwashed. McCain was a very bad choice for the GOP nomination but he is the closest to 4 more years of Bushwackinomics that they could find, who voted over 90% with the "The Middle class Bushwackin" economic plan.

Most of what Ron Paul said in this clip is true or is coming true....more than what I can say for McCain's smear & fear tactics.

I listen to Sirius satallite radio in my truck. I've never really followed politics or any of the elections until this year. I listen to both Sirius Patriot (conservative) and Sirius Left (liberal) with a dose of Sirius Indie talk (seems liberal to me).
What Obama and the Dems want to do almost scares me. They seem to want to take over everything and have the government run it for you. This reminds me of when the union was forcing it's way into my last job. All the unions do is enable the slackers. We had "pay for performance" which gave you a pay raise percentage based on your annual performance evaluation. If you did a good job and benefitted the employer you got a larger % raise than the person that did the minimum amount of work, took extra breaks, avoided taskes and responsabilities. Once the union got in there everyone got paid the same and the slackers had someone to stand-up for them when they got in trouble for being lazy. As I described it to my kids, If you study hard and get an A on a test should you lower your grade to a C so that the other kid that goofed-off and got an F can be given a C just so he/she can pass the test? That's "redistributing the wealth".
I don't fall-in step with McCain either but he's not as bad for America as Obama.
Of the 4 people on the ticket:
Obama: No executive experience, history of taking "non-stance" (voting 'present' on issues), no real world experience (went from college to politics, never had a job).
Joe Biden: No executive experience, has actually voted on issues for better or worse at least took a stand, no real world experience (been in politics since the early 1800's ).
John McCain: No executive experience, has voted on issues, no real world experience (went from military to politics), in military made decisions and commanded others.
Sarah Palin: Does have executive experience (Governor and Mayor), has taken a stance and voted on issues, real world experience (has worked outside politics ie. ran a business)
Out of the 4, Palin has the most qualifications.
I hear people talk about their vote being wasted by voting for a canidate that dosen't win. No vote is wasted. If you are the only person to vote for a canidate and they lose 300,000,000 to your 1 then it is known that not everyone wanted that winner. Some don't vote for a third party canidate because they don't want to waste their vote. I wonder if those that wanted to actually voted for that third party would have gotten them elected?

No vote is a wasted vote.
