      Have a scotch

Wednesday morning November 5th will just be the start of the same old, same old. I have said before if you want 'change' then vote to change out the people in Congress. Here is an example. In Louisiana one of our well-known congressmen (not going to mention his name but his nickname is Dollar Bill) is under federal inditement for taking kickbacks. After Katrina he was caught diverting a group of National Guard from their rescue mission to take him to his house in New Orleans where he was caught removing $89,000.00 in marked bills from his freezer. I'm not making this up. Most of his family are already in prison or waiting for trial on the same stuff and Dollar Bill's trial starts in December. Guess what, on November 4th he is in a runoff election for the same seat he has held for almost 28 years!

So in the famous words of Alfred E. Newman....What, me worry? Have a scotch and dont think about it. Or even better, have a nice, crisp early morning ride.

Hate to run counter, but I'll be voting for Obama. McCain is running like he's not a Republican, although his policies and general demeanor are closely aligned with core Republican philosophies. Looking back over the last 8 years, I can't imagine continuing a Republican in the White House. War of choice, running the economy into the ground, redefining "torture", secrecy, and of course, don't forget that 911 happened on a Republican watch. Obama has his flaws, but IMHO he is a better choice than McCain.

As a side note, Palin is an incredibly bad choice as a VP. If I had considered McCain, and I supported him in his ealier predidential bid, then the choice of Palin for VP sealed my choice for Obama.

I recently saw a show Comedian Dennis Miller did called "All In". It was shown on Comedy Central. To me, Miller has a whole lot more of a clue on things for this country than either Presidential Candidate.

Only after Bin Laden had been apprehended in another country for international crimes and was offered to the US for prosecution of terrorist conspiracy, but Slick Willy was too busy not having sex with Monica to pay any heed to that. By the time the republicans took control of the white house, it was too late, or could it be the real power in the country that dropped the ball, the democrat controlled legislative branch?

Of course we all know that arguing with a politician is like wrestling with a pig in a pile of s#@t. You will never win and pretty soon you start to realize the pig is actually enjoying it.

                My fellow Americans

please remember that not all of us are citizens of the USA. The US choice between "I was a 'nam POW" and "I despise my mother" does seem to be a cause for worry. Here in Canada our Resident Liar has just broken his own new law about fixed election dates, called a snap election and gained a second minority government. God help us all.

It's amazing how people would take anything John McCain says about Obama at face value without checking the facts. I watch the cable news shows and their facts checking and it seems like almost all of what McCain says about Obama is misleading or outright lies. Obama to me seems like the lesser of two evils. He's not out to raise taxes on the middle class, he's not muslim, he's not a terrorist, he won't take your guns away. He DOES have a better health care plan for america than McCain's. Granted it's not perfect but it's better than McCain's. If any other republican would be running for office I might think differently. But I do not like McCain. The facts are: A son of an admiral, a party boy in the navy graduating 5th from the bottom of his class. His plane was shot down because he failed to act on a missle alert and was captured and became a P.O.W., received better treatment as a P.O.W. because of family connections, signed confession, radio & tv appearances for N. Vietnam, appeared in 30+ propaganda films for the N. Vietnamese. Only saw 20 hours of combat duty and yet received 28 medals? Became a P.O.W. celebrity and wrote his OWN story!

I would not characterize this guy as a war hero! And neither do I think he should be touting it as a political advantage over Barak Obama!

                        McCain Unfit To Lead

Most Soldiers Suppor Obama - 6x more than McCain

I know there will be some disagreement about my post but it's just my personal opinion

i have to disagree. i was a navy medic for 10 years and bill clinton screwed us!!! i would not vote for mccain and most of the navy guys i know always voted rep. the dems always try to downsize us and give us less money.

he dropped the master at arms rate (mp's) down to around 1000 personnel fleetwide. and we used civilian cops to man the gates on the bases. then after sept 11th they were like oh crap!!!!! we have no police force of our own. they downsized the medic's and upsized the master at arms.

another intesting fact often overlooked. bush isn't completly at fault with all this stuff. bill clinton wasted alot of money flying his little chelsea around the world and goofing off not to mention all the scandals.

our government has lost sight of what the idea of democracy was all about. dems and rep's

we pay all of them way toooo much money. does anyone remember what ben franklin said about big government?

i wish we could cut those people's pay. and someof their fringe bennifits!!!
imagine how much money we would save if we didn't have to waste money on all these politicians.

we need to put the people back in charge.

oh and bring the price of gas back down!!!

i am sorry i don't like obama he is an arogant ass and if you watch all his interveiws you would see that.

i am also disgusted with how biased the media and celebrity's are towards obama. those people have no touch with reality!!!
                          bye

They can come and take my guns, that will be the day I die. To be honest with you I welcome it, in fact I cant wait.. Im sick of all this. Me and the world have never gotten along. Anyway though I dont think that gun control will be to high on the list with all the problems we have.. Even clinton didnt go full bore on his gun control (except that stupid "assault" weapons ban). I dont think the people will go for it.

Remember a halloween simpsons episode when Ned Flanders wished for world peace with "the monkey paw" ? Then those 2 alien characters took over the planet.. at the end of the episode someone picked up a board with a nail in it.. one alien asked the other if they should destroy them and the other answered no, someday they will build such a big board with a nail in it that they will destroy themselves Muh ha ha ha ha!!!..

McCain/Palin says we ought to vote for them because there's something wrong or evil about the other guy. Obama says we ought to vote for him because there's something right about all of us, including McCain and Palin.

I am tired of people trying to scare me. I am tired of the politics of hate and division. I tired of people telling me to worry about gay marriage or guns or prayer in schools and please ignore what their economic policies are doing to my economic well being. I'm voting for the guy who says we ought to feel good about ourselves and says there is hope, not darkness and division.

Ronald Reagan was a popular president because he made us feel good about ourselves and made us feel good about our Country. I didn't much care for his policies, but I liked his attitude. These Republican leaders today are not the descendants of Reagan. We've tried their policies for eight years in the White House and 12 of 14 years in Congress. It hasn't worked. I think it's time to try something else.

I think people who support McCain are decent honorable people who see things different from me. I just think their choice of candidates and their vision of the future are different than mine. We disagree on policies, but that doesn't mean we should hate each other or question each other's patriotism or call each other names. We're all in this together, Rs and Ds.

I'm voting for hope. I'm voting for Obama.
