Wildkat. I'll be ok, just a matter of TIME. Feel Real fortunate to not have had any neck/back involvement and believe me, I am thinking about and rooting for Russ to be OK.

      Russ in ICU

I just call the nurses' station and they told me Russ is in ICU. I wasn't expecting to learn that. I'll post again when I learn more.

I spoke to Russ about 30 minutes ago. He is recovering in the ICU from surgery on his neck. His fingers and toes all work fine, so I guess that means the surgery was a success. They are apparently going to fix his foot and ankle on Monday. He will be in the hospital until at least Wednesday.

Russ sounds to me like he's in very good spirits. He's going to be stuck down here in Georgia for some time.

I spoke to Russ again. He's out of the ICU and back in a room. All is going as well as one could hope for.

Damn Russ. So sorry to hear about this. Take care of yourself and get better soon. At least you are among friends down there and you have the rest of us in cyberspace pulling hard for you.

Marty, tell Russ for us that he sure knows how to shake things up on the XS11 site, and that there are a lot of folks out here thinkin of him.

I just spoke to Russ again. He had no surgery today. He's checking out of the hospital tomorrow and flying home on Wednesday. He'll have his ankle and foot fixed up there. Doctors here have given him a green light.

I have no doubt he'll be more comfortable at home.

                          update 10-9-07 tuesday

                          Hi XSives,

I spoke with Russ this morning, Tuesday. His neck
surgery went well at NE GA regional medical center.
His daughter & son in law are here to check him out
today and fly him back to yankee land tomarrow.

He has been looking out of the hospital window and
                          wants to get out!

Well wishes to him on foot surgery later in Conneticut
and a full and speedy recovery.

                              I'm baacckkk!

Hi all! Well I’m back from the rally. Not the way I thought however. Thanks for all the well wishes and concerns. Flight was great and on time getting us in around 9PM wed.

I have seen a foot doctor and surgery is scheduled for Sat. 10/13. I should be out Sat or Sunday morning at the latest if all goes well.

I just want to say thanks to all the folks that helped me get home and have taken good care of me and my bike/truck since the mishap on 9/30. You know who you are but special thanks to Brent, Marty A., Marty H., Robin, Gary, Bruce, Phil and Ralph. Marty H’s Cousin, Jeff, for parking my truck and bike in his yard for safe keeping.

I apologize if I missed anyone as I know many helped with accident scene management and traffic control.

I’ll get back as soon as I feel better from the operation. The neck seems to be OK and healing. I’ll post more on my reflections of the accident as I feel better and get more time.

                                Russ,

Glad to see you are home, and seemingly in good spirits. Hope the foot surgery goes well and you can get your bike and truck home soon. Marty A knows were to get cheap parts for the FZ1, when you are ready. If you come back next year I promise to skip that corner or at least do it the other way .

I have a business card from the guy who hit the truck with his trailer. I also left GT the info to put with your keys. If you need me to send the card or info to you just ask. Also if you need a witness
