                Couple of old ones....

Here's a couple of pics of my Honda 450 on the way to the East coast. Year of the trip was '74, can't recall the year of the Honda. These pics were taken in the Colorado Rockies.

You can see the overloaded condition, so I put on some 750 shocks and about 4100 mi. Lots of scenic side trips.

                      Yeah, it was...

Yes, MRO, that's a custom built Sabow that I won in the western invitational at Henderson, NV in '68. It was one of those times when I was getting divorced and packed what I could carry and rode away!!!!

This thread has been floating around for a while so what the heck. Might as well post photos of a few of my babies. I’ve had a lot of bikes over the years but these are the bikes I’ve had in just the last 2 or 3 years:

Of course my ’82 full dressed Maxim… Zilla is the King Ding of my collection. I bought this Eleven from the original owner in Tracy, California. This bike has had every imaginable trick done to it…and then some. I can’t even begin to list everything I’ve done to this machine. Suspension and handling…paint…seat…trick pilot box with 160 mph speedo…auxiliary instruments…trick aux fuel tank…rebuilt tranny with new factory back cut gears…850 FD mod…totally engine overhaul with trick cam..trick head…overbore and modified 4-1 exhaust with R1 can. I could write a short novel on this bike and all we’ve been through.

This week I’ll be installing a SuperTrickk….Supertrapp exhaust. I’ll be posting photos of the mod. It’s a Jardine spaghetti 4-2 megaphone setup. But the guts will be 2 Supertrapp fiber cores with diffuser plates installed on both megaphones. I got this idea from our very own …the real deal GURU…Dan Hodges. I told him I had bought a nice 4-2 spaghetti megaphone and he suggested the dual Supertrapp cores for optimal flow.

KONG!….my 1980 full dressed Special now belongs (and has for a couple years) to our own Poprock. Bought it from the original owner in New Jersey.

Zeus…the old god… ’79 Special…butt naked beauty. I have night sweats about this bike. I sold it and have lived to regret that choice.

This is my latest addition. A 1979 XS1100F retro rocket dubbed Time Machine. This is the bike I wanted when I graduated high school but couldn’t swing it. I bought this from the original owner in the Chicago area. It had a mere 11,500 miles and had been kept in a garage. The guy was very particular about it. I put on “retro” 70’s jacket and ride around on the Time Machine reminiscing about my youth…hehehe…yeah yeah that's what us old guys do when we're bored.

Maxine, my 1982 Maxim 750. I spruced this bike up with a trick seat …custom sissybar and paint. If you didn’t know it the XJ750 broke a 750 class quarter mile record for a stock bike in 1982 when it was release. It was 11.8 seconds. That’s right fellas. This little 16 valve 750 would scare the shiite radical out of an Eleven….bone……stock!

Jehu was my 1987 Kawasaki ZL1000 Eliminator. The Kawboys built this bike to knock heads with the V-Max. In my opinion it looked nicer than that hideous VMX…but it could not run with a V-Max. This one only ran about 2000 miles after I bought it then shanked #4 connecting rod and blew a hole in the crankcase big enough to stick your fist in.

Last but not least is the Flying Kaw…my Prescription for Speed (noted on the tag). This is a 2005 ZRX1200R. Pretty stock except for the Sargent seat and the Muzzy header. The bike spins up about 130 hp at the asphalt. It is indeed a fast bike. The airspeed indicator goes to 170. I buried once.

Here’s a view of the Green Demon in the Hill Country of Texas.

Here’s a view of me at Hallett Motor Speedway playing “ring around the rosey” (track day)

Here’s a view you’d have if you were riding with me…
