Hi. Yes, it's on eBay at £1044 ... that's almost $1700. Rather a lot, I think. The seller doesn't actually make them himself. He's acting as an agent for the person who does make them and puts a mark-up on top of that.
The person I'm taking my bike to is a one-man band who does lots of systems in polished stainless steel for all sorts of bikes. He estimated a more realistic £550 (about $880) for my system. He says he can make 30"+ silencers, bevel the ends and have the single hole at the back like the original.I did think about buying some NOS joint cover trims but they're chromed and might look a bit odd next to stainless?
It may be possible to ship this system to the USA from here. I don't know if it would be cost-effective for you over there to buy them? Shipping would be about $170 with Fedex. In any event, I'll post photos once he's done the job

Thanks very much! I've spent a bit of time and effort renovating the bike. Many of the NOS parts on it came from the USA in fact. The last stage is the exhaust system which means taking the bike to a specialist place next Saturday. They're going to make a stainless steel replica of the original system... or as near as is feasible. I hope..........Leave a comment:

Ray,
you need to go to a site like Photobucket and get an account there (its free) and upload your photos to it. Then after you upload there, when you hover on the pic a list of link types drops down. Pick the one called IMG, highlight it and hit control C to copy it then hit control V to paste that code into a fresh line of your post here. and wala, a pic is posted.
Hey! It worked! Thanks for that...... I'll be uploading more pix a week on Saturday when the 4 into 2 goes on the bike..

Jim, you've got to go via a pictire hosting site, whether it's photobucket, imageshack or whoever. Load up your photo to a host site and then copy and paste the img code for forums. See this one i posted last on the UK forum, nearly a bike photo, it's part of a bike.

Can anyone tell me how to put a photo into my posting, rather than directing with a link to photobucket?Leave a comment:
