I think you'll find the in line 4 a lot quicker than the V twin and with the suspension working properly and good tires that XS will handle better than you ever expected.
It WILL do things your not comfortable doing. At least until you get used to it.

I just got finished polishing her up after she's been sleeping for the past few years. I had to rebuild the carbs and I still need some final touches to the rear brake caliper; it's grabbing too much. I need to fix the horn button and I think I got the speedo working (I haven't ridden her yet). The speedo needle was bouncing and not showing more than about 20 mph. I also need to replace the tires; the current ones are cracked and weathered. If I remember, the XS11E has tubes. Right?
What you think of my license plate? I just got it a few months ago. It's a California veteran's plate and I was much surprised that XS11E was available! Semper Fi!
Just some pictures from a contest we have going over on .org (the mention is only because it's the reason the pictures got taken).
The challenge for this stage of the contest was to get a picture of your bike with the largest ______. I happen to live fairly close to the largest sewing needle in the world. So, these are them.
First, the bike, I didn't notice the special effects from the sun when I took the picture, but it's not too bad.
Now, the sewing needle and you can see the bike at the bottom of it.
