Yup. Every time I would have an error in judgement at the gas pump it would mess it up. It had been repaired so many times it was like looking at the surface of the moon when I looked down at it.
I put the two part urethane clear on it. It didn't polish up as well as I hoped after sanding but I think that's just the way urethane is. It better keep the gas spills at bay.

Looks great Greg
New paint? Spill some gas did we?
I am guessing you got a good finish from the two part clear.
See you Saturday!
Beer is chillin'

XJ1100 From The Past
Here's a XJ11 I owned back in 98 that was pretty close to being in showroom condition....
This was just after I bought it, thereafter I painted the main stand cause of good old battery acid
doing a number on it, thankfully that was the only piece that was affected...
Sorry for the quality of the pics, but these are pictures of pictures,
at least you can blow them up to view them better

Hey Cuda,
Thanks man. Appreciate the props. I also know that you and I are among the few northeasterners here. We should plan a ride, not in the NYC metropolitan area, but more adirondacky or New England.

My ride
So I finally found a minute to post a pic of the bike I bought in February. Looks to be 100% stock. I bought it with 6300 miles on it. It's got 6700 now. The best part is that it's not really been cleaned. I gotta shine her up.
Let's see if I know how to post a pic . . .Last edited by crazy steve; 04-03-2012, 09:48 AM.Leave a comment:

I last posted Feb. '11 when I found this site to share I recently got a XS1100. Here's a pic of my purchase.
Since then I really haven't done much to it, except ride it. Took it in to a local cycle mechanic this "spring" to have him give it a tune-up, then the next day took it on a ride to visit my dad 100 miles away. That was great.Leave a comment:
