Hi Ty, if you were planning on attending rally in BuennaVita this year, your MOST welcome to stay-over at my and Anita's place. My place to Buenny rally is approx. 3hr. ride along with 3 different scenic directions to get there.

At this point, looks like we'll have Scott(3Phase), Roo, and Mike(Soccer4me) here at my place for stay-over.

Mike purchased and hauled Roo's "campmobile" Nomad to his place in San Diego. He replaced the plastic oil pump gear drive with metal one and has bike together again and near running. So, with that, Mike has two options as to which bike to ride to rally.

Just give me a call(970-640-7221) and let me know if you plan on attending rally and stopping here at my place.......MOST welcome as ALWAYS!

Chatted a bit with Bohn last night.
He says he plans on going, but didn't get into details yet.

I'm still hopeful that I'll make this one. Lonnette got bad again last month, after several months of feeling ok. Went through 2 weeks of really bad pain, had to rush her back to the cancer facility for tests. I'd never seen her so bad...screaming and crying with pain, no pain pill, heating pad, topical ointment, or tens shock unit therapy helped. She couldn't get up out of a chair, walk, drive, sleep flat in the bed... for 2 weeks she was in the recliner.
She has to take a med that blocks all estrogen production. Seems to attack her bones as well. She stopped the med for about 10 days, and got better. Now she's back on it the past 3 days, getting bad again.
Whoever said "Cancer Sux" sure got it right.
For her type of cancer, estrogen feeds it. Med that removes it creates intense pain in her bones. Some trade off. Either way, no quality of life.

At this point, I'm just hoping she'll be ok enough for me to make the rally.
I REALLY wanna make this one...BAD!

If I go though, and Bohn does too, we'll probably do like we normally do.
It just works out good for both of us.

          Fingers crossed, time will tell.

Perhaps, if you want, you and I could ride together to Witchita, meet Bohn there, and we could travel west together from there?

As rally time gets closer, I'll keep you posted.

I think I will be riding the turquoise 78E. It is easier on my knee with the highway pegs.

                Me too.

We hope it's just this med and not something more serious.
I too hope it is just a medication thing.

                • Meds do weird things, it goes without saying, and what you describe happening is something that is a known side effect. In that sense, and only that sense, it is good news. It sucks to hurt and prayers are with her on being more pain free than she is and for you to keep the faith with her.

                    • Greg and all you guys,

Just know... If there's any way I can make this rally, I will be attending!

2 years ago, (last rally I got to attend that was in Canon City...) I got as far as Witchita riding. I had planned to meet up with Bohn in Salina.
As I came into Witchita, it began to storm, and it wasn't just a little rain! Wicked storm, and went as far north as Nebraska! It was gonna be a rough ride from there to Salina.
I pulled into a convenience store in Witchita to hopefully wait it out.
Bohn saw it as he approached from KC, and called to check on me.
Told him where I was, and that I was gonna hold up there for a bit and wait.
Instead, he diverted and met me in Witchita.
That was a good thing, because as it turned out, that storm lasted for 3 hours!

Loaded my bike in his trailer there, and drove in the rain due west all the way to Colorado! That was one time I felt NO SHAME trailering!!

I don't mind to ride in rain, don't get me wrong, and I do a lot. But I hate storms, especially ones with high, gusty winds and sleet! Not a fan of that, and have done that, too. Prefer to avoid that, if possible.

It's some slower, going that way, due to all the small towns to go through, but it still wasn't too bad.

So, if it works out better, and you wanna do something like that Greg, let me know and we'll try to plan for it...?

Rather do that than watch you end up riding all the way to Co. alone.

                      • Thanks Bob but really not a big deal. I'm planning to head North to Montana for a few days after the rally anyway. I'll be alone then too.

                        • Minor update to the rally page. I aded a link to a MapQuest map of the area; link is on the main page.

Playing with HTML code using the iframe tag; lets you embed another web page in your web page. Code has been around a while but I had never used it so this was something of an experiment.

Also added an area map to the North Bend Again page. (XS East rally page.)

                          • Well guys,
                            It's now official.
I'm not gonna make this rally. But not for the reasons I figured...

My daughter's getting married... JULY 14.

Guess I'll have to shoot for next year.

Bonz- if you get shirts made, I'll take one. XL. Thanks.

                            • Congrats on that, Bob! Was it in the works and finally the date settled on, or she just met the guy of her dreams and they can’t wait any longer?

Jerry and I will hold down the Kawasaki front once again... Let me know about Bohn, is he going to come without his sidekick (you)?

                              • They met freshman year of college and have dated 7 years.
They just recently told me they were engaged, but hadn't set the date.
Now, they have the date, and of course... it's during the rally time.

I guess another year, another rally missed...

                                Sorry, guys.

But happy for them. Future S-I-L is a great guy, and has been the best thing that ever happened for Sarah. She's happy, so I'm happy.
She's asked me to attend dance classes (3) for the Father-Daughter dance at the reception, which I agreed to. She asked me to pick the song.

That part was easy... Steven Curtis Chapman's "Cinderella."
The plan is to also include my 2 grandaughters. You can YouTube it if you've never heard it before.

Hope you all have a great rally, and a safe one.
I'll be looking forward to next year.
