Well, SWMBO's schedule has firmed up and she will be able to make the trip! YayY!! So, Ed, there is one for the distaff side. LoHo said his wife is coming, too. So that's two.

We are going to ease on up the road on Thursday just because we haven't been riding that much and need to get back in shape. Anybody coming in early, we'll be at the Motel 6 in Paso Robles. My 'cel phone number is 714-801-5548.

I pretty much don't care where we ride on Saturday, maybe we could all go see the soda lake? Rte 58 is a pretty fun road. There is a biker-attracting restaurant in Taft that isn't either too bad or too expensive. I don't wanna do the Nacimiento Road again. Too tight, too much work for a fat guy.

LoHo, if I could, I'd like to send you a check ahead of time, so I don't have to carry as much cash. I'd also like to put in a special dietary request for Diet Pepsi as my drink of choice, since I'm an addict. Couple of twelve packs should do it with enough left over to share. Send me your home address to my e-mail (REFFI@aol.com) and I'll put a check in the mail.

BTW, If anyone else is planning to motel it, be advised that our rally weekend conicides with graduation at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and the room rates have been jacked accordingly. Holiday Inn Express wants $299 a night for the weekend! Hence our stay in Paso Robles. The Principessa will be coming up from San Diego to sit the house and the dog (no vet fees!)

We are set to go, and stoked about it. We're looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting any new folks.

Special Ed, my Kelly and Tkat's Carolyn, plus Ms. Reffi, so your sweetie won't be flying solo. The Kampin' Kabins have power (we made coffee last time and used it for lights), so that might be an option. More expensive than a tent, cheaper than a motel.

Diet Pepsi will be added to the menu, unless I forget, of course.

The bike is still non-op, despite my staring at it allllllll daaaayyyyy today.

If I go do I have to reserve a rent site or can I just show up?...and what time dose everyone roll out at sat morning for the ride? Im wondering due to the possibility of riding out sat morning due to getting out of work late and it being a close to 6 hr ride...

One thing we try to avoid is the Bataan Death Rides that so often occur at rallies. We like easy rides with something to look at and a destination in mind, usually a touristy restaurant. I doubt that we'll roll out before 10:00am, probably later, as that is the talkative breakfast and we'll need to argue about where top ride. The ride inland toward the Soda Lake sounds promising, and perhaps some Mexican food in Taft or thereabouts (refried beans and tents...a winning combination!). Heading over the other way to Morro Bay is great as well, or down to Avila, or up to Big Sur. We plan as little as possible and the results bear this out.

Saturday's lunch is the only meal between Friday's dinner and Sunday's brunch that I won't cook.

A guy can show up whenever he likes, and all are welcome. Ride what you have...I may be caging it this time myself.

I can't go to the rally. The washing machine took a dump this evening; transmission sounds like it has a bag of marbles in it so the the spare money I thought I had is going for a new transmission.

I called Ed and Gypsy and they're going to take the cabin I had reserved. I don't know how many people a cabin can hold but I think they're interested in sharing the cost with someone. I'll know more tomorrow when I talk to Ed and the reservation folks at the lake.

How much does a new tranny cost? how much u give me for my washer? I'm moving back to NY 1st week in July...I might be into selling it...

It's an easy repair, a little over $250 for everything I'll need including the new transmission. I've already ordered and paid for the parts but I'll keep your washer in mind if it doesn't work. I just can't do everything in the same month so the rally's out for this year.

Gypsy wants to come, so we will be looking at taking over Scots cabin under very unfortunate circumstances
Like Scot sez we will connect Tuesday and figger out details and pass them on to y'all.
Maybe a good fairy or a Brownie, or the Eternal Maytag Repairman will come along and repair Scots washer, allowing him to attend at the last minute: it could happen!
Gypsy will be driving our cage down with air mattress, sleeping bags, sleep apnea machine, nebulizer (for me,) and various other life support equipment.

Scott - will you think you will still make Durango in July? Too soon to tell?

I hate washing machines - for what seems like a simple device they sure are alot of trouble.

I should be able to go to Durango; just too many things happened in the same month for Santa Margarita.

The washer's 10 years old. It's used by six people and it usually runs at least once per day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so it's done its duty for a consumer-grade machine; no complaints except for the dastardly timing of its demise. Grrr....
