Howdy Psyco
There are trees, but a little ways apart, if you bring a long, couple of ropes there should be enough support for a hammock. If you buy a cheapie 1-2 person tent at Walmart and a cheapie 1.99 blow up air mattress, they are actually pretty comfy. The temps are warm enough you dont even need a sleeping bag, just a blanket, which saves luggage room. So, bring a lot of rope for the hammock and there are trees, and cold beer, ice, food and stuff at the campstore. Bring a camera, lots of cool xs1100's. CHeers, Mike in S.DIego

Really ready
I am SO ready for this ride. Missed the one last year and decided to go this year even if it meant loading the credit card. LOL Are you guys from SD gonna meet me at McDonalds, Magnolia/I15? I recall somewhere seeing you were gonna leave around 6 AM and meet me at 8 AM. I figure you should be there before 8 AM as it's about 100 mi. Anyway, I'm REALLY ready to go.

The site is basically a flat space at the top end of the road cut out of the spur of a hill with other sites cut in steps below it. The restrooms/showers are just down the hill from the adjacent site.

OK for you guys who have been to the KOA before, are there plenty of trees on/around the group site? Reason I ask is...
it looks like I'm going to be solo - due to money, gonna cost an extra 200 just to drive the family wagon down and back, so I'm thinking of canceling my reservation and pitching in with the group site folks, however I hate sleeping on the ground, much prefer to hang out in one of these however they do require a tree or two

Planned Rides
I believe that I still have the Roadrunner Magazine article that shows four (4) loop rides out of the Paso Robles area. I was planning on bringing that along (again) this year since we didn't do any of them last year. Naciemiento - Ferguson road may have been one of the loops.

I just got back from Santa Cruz and I took the Nacimiento/Fergusson Road to the coast then all the way down to San Luis Obispo.
There is ~$5.00 gallon gas in Gorda, CA, about five miles south of the Nacimiento/Fergusson Road on the Pacific Coast Highway.
There is also gas available on-post at the Fort Hunter-Liggett AFEES station. They're having summer war games again. You need a credit card because the pumps are not attended but it's not $5.00 a gallon. Current bike registration and proof of insurance is required to enter the post.

hey, I just put a 81 venture tank on my special so I'm in... all the other guys can carry a gas can right?

I was hoping to do the naciemento fergusun ride but I heard it is not special friendly being at least 114 miles between gas stops, not a problem for me with the 81h tank

Has anyone come up with a "route"? Just wondering if we have a planned ride saturday or if its going to be a less organized ride fast until we start to get hungry and then figure out Where the heck we are?

I can take a turn at cooking.
I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new people. And of course the ride: it’s all about the ride, right?

From what I've heard the group site should have plenty of space, never been there or seen it but its been said several times. I do have a site reserved for me and SWMBO and our son, but we are happy to share the site, so long as "language" is watched around our parrot, oh wait, I mean our 3yr old.

I have NOT reserved a site, as of yet. My plan was to share with someone, or be in the "group" site. I'm trying to get the carbs working properly on the big bike, as I need to carry all my stuff this time! Ed and I will probably blast down Friday afternoon, and I hope to arrive about 7:00pm.
I also need to work on a spare transmission for Ed's bike, as he is now down to 3,4,and 5 for gears!See everyone in a few weeks!

Sandy has me set up for an RV site (57 I think) in the same general area I was parked last year. Unless they changed it all around, there are plenty of tent sites near there. If you making reservations give her Katter and she'll locate you.
