Georgia Ride Friday

As mentioned, Mike and I had a really nice ride across Georgia on Friday.


We stopped in south Georgia at the Suwannee River flowing out of the Okefenokee Swamp

We were getting really great SPM (smiles per mile) on the ride to Florida.
Pine pollen getting thick too. And doing a serious amount of bug smashing on the windscreen.

GA - FL Line

200 Mile Saturday rally ride with a bit of Georgia - Florida Line
A real nice group ride today. I think we had FUN

Rode from Florida into Georgia just south of the Okefenokee Swamp then back into Florida on some very scenic back roads. Wide variety of scenery over a short 100 miles.

Lunch at Ronnie's Seafood & Wings then walk around the park and pier.
XS11's invited for photo op. Mike, Eric, Jonathan, Phil then forgot to take a group pic of everyone.


after lunch via Penney Farms FL16 then great ride on 229 north to Sanderson

Mike's LED's showing up 10 seconds back. Ted's beams too running the all important sweep.

Three days, not a cloud in the sky.

Group is having lunch at Stumpknockers in Inverness. 70 degrees. Sunny again.
Having some gator.

Ride going well. Interesting. Back to to ride on.

Sunday PM: we "parked em" about three hours ago at a Howard Johnson's. Hanging out there this evening. All bikes running fine. No issues. Amazingly low 20% humidity so when sun sets it cools off rapidly. No dew on bikes in AM, a rarity in FLA. Normally they are soaked from high humidity and the dew.

Off to Naples in the AM. May stop at some musuem or nature center along the way. I'm not sure everyone's miles ridden so far but Mike & I have rolled off 793 miles since leaving Atlanta.

Phil an so I made it home about 6. A little traffic on our last leg. Lots of fun seeing parts of a Florida I've never seen before. Great riding on the little byways of Florida shows it's different side. Looking forward till the day we all get to ride together again.

Whacky but hope everyone had fun.

Tuesday. Having lunch in Everglade City and the Rod & Gun Club. Grouper, Shrimp sort of thing. Relaxing on the veranda with a mango tea waiting for the food.

Then, splurged so after lunch taking a mangrove swamp air boat tour in the Everglades. That should be fun. Might need to try the Key Lime pie too. Maybe real Key Limes.
