Take me back to ol' Virginny

    Hey All,

Made it the 600+ miles back home around 5:30pm tonight after leaving at 8:00am today. Russ left this am also, but he's laying over in PA, to finish his run to Conn. tomorrow, hope to hear of his safe arrival home as well.

Gary and Bruce were there, possibly to do another ride if the weather held up....but it looked like rain and then were going to head up to Tenn. or so for some newer roads to run for a few more days....they had 2 weeks vacation to burn, along with their tires!!

Speaking of burning up tires, thankfully MartyA didn't have another day to ride, cause he didn't have another tire to ride on! He was down below the tread wear indicators in the remnants of the tread grooves!

As mentioned, aside from discovering that terrorist cell(nest) of chipmunks and their little "IED" causing MartyA to "blow" his front wheel traction during a run at the "Dragon", the rides were otherwise safely completed!

I'm sure we'll be posting some ride reports with PHOTOS later! Have to go and check some several hundred unread posts I've missed during this last week.....couldn't get my laptop wireless card to work right!

      Georgia on my mind

Made it back today (Tuesday) at 3PM. 2150 miles on the truck, 5% twisties and 95% straight, so 5% fun. Bike had 600+ miles, 95% twisties and 5% straight, so 95% fun. It was fun to see/ride the "Gap" but next time I'm going during the week. The weekends are too much like "Six Flags" for me. Thanks to Rob for the dinner and Gary for the great rides! Good to see everyone again. The Smokies are a must do if you ride. Hope eveyone gets home OK. Now I just got to wash the bike and pick the chipmunk fur out of the tire grooves. Show no mercy!

                      safe from chipmunks?

Do you think maybe this is safer from chipmunks?

Now you are falling into their trap. Be warned! Ride that toy and they WILL catch up with you...

But you will get better gas mileage....

I dropped Bruce off a couple of hours ago, and just got home. Will post stories and pics later. We came home early due to cold rain in Mt City this morning, too many leaves down and not enough time for roads to dry. This area rocks!! We will be back.
