    Scouting out rides today

Took a nice ride out to The Lone Star Motorcycle Museum in Vanderpool with Dylan today to shake the cobwebs out of that XJ550. Beautiful weather and everythings green in The Hill Country for a nice change.

Sure would be nice to have some Rally Riders going through Bandera to give all the new Harley and Gold Wing riders something to look at. Nothing like a big bunch of XS/XJs riding by.

So far the list of attendees:

    John (me)
Dylan (my son, I am making him attend
BA80(attending) coming in Sat am from Tulsa
Webbcraft2150 (attending) comng from Austin on Saturday
Elevener (maybe) might come by from Memphis
My neighbor Jake and Teri (Harley trike)

Please let me know if you might come by so I can plan food and drinks.

    Thanks
    John

        Plan and Lodging

I figure our outline is as follows:

        Friday evening 25 May

Early arrivals can come directly to my place 8202 Middle Point in San Antonio where the visiting can begin. If you plan to bring a tent we can accomodate in the backyard (plumbing is indoors). Or you are welcome to pitch a sleeping bag or cot on the floor.

There are several motels/hotels close by if you require more creature comforts.

Holiday Inn Express at 9536 Amelia Pass is only 2 miles away.
Candlewood Suites 9502 Amelia Pass next door to HIE.
La Quinta at 9522 Brimhall Rd.
Motel 6 on Loop 1604 at Bandera Rd

These run from $69/night to $119/night.

Saturday morning early there will be a pancake breakfast at the house and mild wrenching can begin. Anything that can be accomplished by noon is fair game.

Kickstands up at noon (unfinished work stays behind) and its off to visit Bandera and The Twisted Sisters loop. This 100 mile loop has been rated as #1 in Texas and will rival those in other states too. Its a good 250 mile ride including the loop. We return to the house by 1800 for grilling and relaxing and beverages.

Sunday morning is like saturday and we can plan to ride at 1400 (mostly because I dont anticipate the risers to be getting up as early) this time north towards Boerne, Blanco and Austin. Dinner at Rudy's BBQ in Austin on The Capital of Texas Highway before heading back to San Antonio. (I figure some northbound riders may peel off here)
(Keoki if you can swing it, we can end up at your place in Austin in the late afternoon and plan to ride out of Austin on Monday morning, I know you know some good rides up there)

If we end up back in San Antonio, Monday you can get your own darn breakfast and meet at the garage. I'm not planning a ride for Monday, we will talk it over and plan it together.

            Bacon pancakes

I make the pancakes with a strip of bacon in them. Hard to hate pancakes with bacon in them.

                Not like that

Greg that was strange and oddly entertaining, but I have in mind something more like this:

Yes, I am still alive. Took a week and went up to Fort Collins to see the fruits of my 4 years of tuition. (OK kid, now go get a job) Been deep in organizing a national event for my off road club and lining up another big warehouse project at work. I am up for memorial day. I have the banner and can send to John (send me your address). Landing at my house is no problem.

Good to hear from you Keoki and it'll be good to see you again.

Doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in this MOM. It'll be a small group to keep tabs on though. Less stress.

You'll be coming down to ride saturday right?
