Adirondack mountains are some great riding in upstate N.Y. Just saying
and no dry counties
and no dry counties
and no dry counties

Their whole method of roadways use is to get as many cars as possible on as many parallel lanes as possible going as fast as they can get away with, just to get to the next town.

+16 more miles = access to some awesome motorcycle roads. Plus get great ride on The Dragon US129 on the way to Stecoah, plus can take loop over Cherohala Skyway to Tellico Plains, TN or over Smoky Mtn Park road into Gatlinburg, TN and Townsend, TN back to the Dragon and Stecoah on a day ride. The start of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Cherokee, NC is only 35 miles from Gatlinburg, TN. Avoids the more crowded Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg car magnet area.
