    It's time

I think it's time I jump on the band wagon and do this.
I've been a part of this forum for too long now to not have gone to one of these rallies.
I'm local with TC and have found the other XSives I've chatted with and met to be great people.
I so much enjoy riding my bike every day to work and would love to get out and ride just for fun.
I'm not sure if XS Southeast is doable this year. SWMBO wants to go to vegas in early Sept, so there won't be any money left for me to trek down there. (unless I can hitch a ride/(share a trailer) with someone.)
So, I have to at least plan on XS East '13 for sure. Maybe by then I'll have Scarlet up and running. It's a much nicer looking bike than my Green Monster.

    Count me in.
Hi, my name is George & I'm a twisty addict!

Guy's you need to look at the thread your all posting in. You are in the Northeast (and Eastern Canada) threads. Southeast has a fall rally a it is. I myself think the this rally should go no farther south then md way in the Va both of them. I love NC and that area but if i go down there i need more then 3 days

I agree with Ralph that as nice as NC is...its too far south to be a Northeast rally...my feeling is either WVA or PA....

            XSeast 2013 location?

Western Maryland. Area near Friendville, Frostburg, Cumberland , and Handcock is so good that the interstate I68 is marked as a scenic route. Alternate 40 has some good twisties. Several state forrests in the area too.Accomadations & food? I do not know. Could pack a lunch and a tent.

Anyone in the area have local knowledge?
It is a great big beautiful world out there

On second thought, since Maryland is a southern state, just accross the line in PA might be better. Rides could easily get to WV from there.

                  Western MD

                  Brent,
I used to do underground surveying, several yrs. ago, for a mine out of Westernport, MD.
I believe we'd get off I-68 at exit 24 onto rt. 657 thru Lonaconing.
I've been in Frostburg and Frindsville; on our way back we'd always stop at Keysers Ridge Truck Stop for gasoline and very good food. They have a smoking dining area as well as a nonsmoking dining area.
Good roads with twisties in the Lonaconing/Westernport areas.
I've also gotten off I-68 at exit 22 and went thru New Germany State Park with primitive camping sites. Good twisties here with elevation changes also.
Frostburg is a rather large town/city with all the goodies as in hotels and fast food. I'm sure it would have some good mom and pop, non chain type resturants also.
Lonaconing has a large stone furnance from the turn of the century for steel making I believe. I've stopped there [it's right beside the road] and checked it out before. It's now a small park right in town.
It's been 5+ yrs since I've been in these areas [with the exception of Keysers Ridge] so I hope my memory is still accurate!
BTW, Near Casselman, in sight of I-68 is a stone arch bridge one can walk accross only now. In the mid or early 1800's it was the largest arch bridge in the U.S.
                  Hope this helps - - - - -

ALmost a month and no comments!

West Virginia!!! I found a motel with 30 rooms open right now. Great roads! (No, not the Cow Shed )

Or Wellsboro, PA? Roads not as nice as WV, and smaller motels so we may have to split up, but I know most of the better rides around there.

                    Comments? Time to commit.

actually I also noticed that the gentlemens club was closed.

So maybe she has moved on?
