I can store the files if you like, and post links for folks to download them. PM me and we'll get it set up.

    • Hey Darrell,

Guess you can substitute me for Davinci/RANDY! I hadn't been paying attention to the Forum, and DPotter buzzed me about it, didn't realize it was this close...just across "MY" state!

However, I see that I missed the reservation cutoff date by 1 day??? I just called the Super8, the night clerk will check with the manager tomorrow and let me know if they can let me have a room. I have to have a real bed, can't do sleeping bags or couches with my "OLD" back/neck! :P

And it's close enough that I will be able to just RIDE Godzilla there instead of trailering it! And I'll get a chance to show of the Mini-Alt mod in person for anyone that wants to get a closer in person look at it!

            • TC,

If there’s no room at the Super8, there’s an Economy Inn across the street and a Days Inn up Rt11 a couple of miles. You may score a deal with one of the other local hotels that are in abundance.

Would you be wanting a t shirt?

              • Ok, here are the files for the routes:

The .est files are Microsoft Streets and Trips files, which needs the 2010 software version to open. The PDF files are just the .est files printed to PDF. The GPX files are the waypoints excerpted from the .est files that can (should) be able to be imported into most GPS software. The .gpb files are Garmin GPS files.

                Saturday ride:
                PDF version
                GPX file
                EST file
                GPB file

                Sunday ride:
                PDF version
                GPX file
                EST file
                GPB file
                1980 XS850SG - Sold
                1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08

                • Thanks Marshall!

My typo error, the "GPB" files listed are really Garmin "GDB" files for a Garmin GPS.

IF you don't have the Streets and Trips software or Garmin software, you can download and print the PDF files, that will at least give you paper maps.

                    Davinci,
Good luck on winning lottery & attending Rally. I like to meet new folks. I do miss some of my old friends.

TC, I have a regular 2- bed non smoking room. You are welcome to share it with me. (I do like to save money & I cannot sleep in 2 beds at once)

Rally soon. That is some beautiful country... mountain roads...Looking forward with gleeful anticipation

                      Hey there Brent,

Nice to see you and Randy are still talking to me! I was able to get a room at the Super8, but if you haven't gotten someone to share yours with you, I'd be happy to help split the $$ for it. Surprised you got a NON-SMOKING room, you givin' up on your "CI-GARS"? Let me know for sure so I can CANCEL my reservation to free it up for someone else.

Looks like I can't get that Friday off, so I'll be leaving from work hopefully around 4PM or sooner? SO...depending on how horrible traffic is around RICHMOND and such I would hope to arrive by 9 pm or so.

Hey Darrell, sure, I'll take an XL Black in SS, thanks!

Sounds like another Vice President of the Yamaha XS/XJ owners associon.

TC, You are in. I will call lexington Super 8 so they expect you. My last name is Hoovestol in case you need it. Still smoke cigars, but not inside.

You may not see my red Harley Road king. Still have it, but I got a sport model last year. I may be riding this different bike. It is a black Buell 1125R (dark blue frame & wheels) I have added a spitfire windshield (The better to smoke behind), and interstate saddlebags & top case.

Looking forward to seeing you again Plane Dick, Have not seen you since i was at the XS11 rally in South Lake Tahoe several years ago. Quite a ride for you, crossing the 'Big Empty' and all.

                          Work to ride.
I am SO looking forward to this that I have begun to enjoy earning gas money.

Yes. It has been quite challenging trying to communicate at Taco bell drive thru or drug store. Loud fans continues to blow on radiators even after key is turned off. It ain't easy being me. And at idle...wife says "sounds terrible"...Mechanics & owners compare the mechanical rattling sound to one made by shaking a box of rocks. I am told that they all do it. I wonder for how long.
