  • XSEast 2009 - IDEAS??

Yes, before we even hit the starter buttons on the first run of XSEast '08, there were discussion about '09. So I'm posting this real early to start a general dialog about '09.

We saw a lot of new faces this year, and maybe some of you have some ideas brewing?

Let's hear 'em! Time is running out!

When and where was the last time it was held in Canada?
Has there ever been one in Ontario?

Just some notes from my past experiences:
None of these are cast in stone, just ideas to help thinking about where the next rally is going to be.

Not too close to a city. The more traffic lights you have the tougher it is to keep everyone together.

Motel big enough for everyone, not too costly.

        CURVES in the roads.

        More CURVES in the roads.

Gas stations within 60-80 miles of each other on the routes in case any Specials show up.

Food available at the appropriate times during the ride, again big enough for parking all the bikes and fit everyone, but....

Decent photo opportunity at some historic site or scenic site.

        No stream crossings.

No dirt roads without ample prior warning.

There are more I am sure someone else can add to this.

            ...good shirt...
Krap I forgot the shirt. Yeah, need a cool logo and cool 'saying' like "To do Poconos" or "Big Power in the Little Canyon" or something like that. But you'll get LOTS of help with that part.

I'd like to go North too!

What kind of legal documents would us guys South of the border need to get out of the US and into Canada? Is it more a problem of getting back into the US?Passports?Iknow I have heard that the Canadian authorities dont like radar detectors...so I wont have that LOL...if indeed there is a ride up to Ontario I will want to hook up with a few of you guys going that way...BTW all I'm gonna say now is that for the next rally I may have a big surprise to pull off...just whet ur apetite...so to say...

                            Its still early yet...

Since this is all still in the discussion stage ...I'll hold off on getting a passport, but I'd like to ride thru Ontario..never been there...just as long as we avoid the Black Fly season....New England states are quaint and scenic...lots of backroads and lots of places big and small to find gas.I did a "STOC" rally for the ST11/1300...(ST Owners Club)last year in Conn.and we rode clear into Mass. and back to base in Lebanon,CT.Like I said so many backroads everywhere...quaint N.E. towns and farmland and OFC New England Mtns and views..and the ppl are very hospitable as well...just my .02 cents ....
