  • Xssively Lost Fall 2010 (Minnesota) Rally

It’s time to start planning another "Lost" rally.
I offer up an invitation to bring this rally to the North Country of Winona Minnesota also known as the “Island City” located along the mississippi river.

    I’m looking at August 6th-8th .
Ok, so that’s not Fall yet even in Minnesota but I will put that date out there to see what response there is.

Meet and Greet with barbeque at my home Friday night, explore the bluff country of Minnesota and Wisconsin on Saturday. Ride somewhere Sunday morning for those interested.
Routes and ideas are in the planning stage.

        BUMP:

Hmmmmm is this a really bad date for everyone?
This date was picked at our spring rally but can be changed.
I'm open for suggestions of a different weekend.

Was hoping to see some new faces from the Wis and MN areas jump in along with the usual group.
        Everyone welcome.

Might want to post something in the open section. I know a lot of people fail to look in this section. Sometimes its because they are not sure what area they belong in. Also you might want to go through the Minn/Wis people and send pm's inviting them.

It's a ways out yet, but I would absolutely run down for this if I remain free! I am a rally meister right now for a Concours rally in Tomah, WI, on July 12-16. Check this link if you have any interest. We will have a little over 225 riders attending that one! http://www.cog-online.org/clubportal...enuoptID=18695

                    That sounds great Harry.
I rode the planned route yesterday and came to 256 miles, geez guess I'll need to trim off a bit. Have a number of options for routes to adjust for time as we go. Have some really nices sections in Wisconsin picked out.

i work that weekend but i'll look into trading some days around.

                      i'll try...
i will try to make it.

ps. around wamandee wi there isn't a strait road to be found..
                      hint hint....

i taken several rides through there, i'll try to get the road names for ya.
it's a good way to get these bikes one hell of a workout.

                      later.

Sounds like a plan to me, I don't think I have anything up for then, will stick it on my calendar and make every effort to be there.

I have rides to attend for the next three weekends, that should give me one weekend to recover and start again.

If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!

Yes Wamandee is on the route and nice to know someone else is familiar with the area. I have almost covered the alphabet with Hwys. G,P,YY,M,C,E,EE, along with Alligator Slide Rd. 95, 88 and more.
Morning will be Minnesota side through hills, lookout and river valley, Wisconsin in afternoon, more hills, valleys and very few straight stretches.

                            Ok boss

                            I've setup the days off.

                            aaahhh... where we meetin?

i know we got time... i hope... my bike isn't done yet...
                            no worries, it'll be ready

even if i don't get the carbs jetted 100% right it'll still be a heck of alot better then the last run i did through there. blown fork seals and bad tires....
                            lots of adrenilin...

that's the heart of rocket twisty terirory.. i know. i ran the ninja through there too.

even the first part of....60? or 61? from wabasha up and over the hill, lots of fun... just too many of those fancy cars with flashing lights on top...

the WI side is alot more work... twisty snake trails..
i usually start at durand and drop south on "F", stay with f till you hit 37 then turn north for a mile then drop south on "N", from there you can just wander around, Blank hill road or "EE" or any of the roads around are good. there is no shortage of good roads.

just zoom in good with mapquest, or look at a WI Atlas & Gazetteer Paperback by DeLorme those books are great for finding snaketrails.

the more squiggly the line, the better the road. WI has very few gravel roads is this area (almost none). so don't worry about that.

                            Later all.

For you and other's I'll send you a PM with my address as we meet at my placed for food and beverages Friday night.
Yes Blank Hill Rd is a good one and I've been trying to figure out how to tie that into the loop I have planned without doubling back too much. We can spend a day riding those twisties all within a 30 mile radius.
